Wow that's a really nice axe, maybe it could be bigge..... wait a sec Is he rubbing his ass on that guys knee? Yeah I think he is. That's nasty BAs. I prefer when you do post apoc paintings... not sick fetish ones.

05-23-2003, 09:26 PM
Vikings are my favorite too!

05-23-2003, 10:52 PM
The quality of posts on this forum cannot be denied. =)

05-23-2003, 11:15 PM

05-23-2003, 11:17 PM
Kick Ass! I love it!
Reminds me of Frazetta's work, there's a lot of action and movement in this one. You should be proud.

Plugged and inserted in Gallery (lil'd will be along shortly with the rewards!)

Quality work!:buttrock:

05-23-2003, 11:20 PM
very nice indeed ... but, where is the viking? ;) (even the topic says 'barbarian'!)

05-23-2003, 11:21 PM
Hey, is that Spiderman creeping up on the far side of the cliff?

Good work though. Really superb.

05-23-2003, 11:27 PM
Very nice, looks to be inspired by Frazetta, no.

05-23-2003, 11:27 PM
hey this is very good.

but isnt the Vikinger missing a second Leg?

EDIT: Man am I stupid, I saw the second Leg after 5 Minutes looking on the Picture. Shame on me :surprised

05-23-2003, 11:29 PM
Is there a viking? I can't see any :/
Anyways, the barbarian is totaly cool, seems to me that this battle will be in long long time
Don't listen to Sketch23, the barbarian's move would be going fast when he is kicking, that he wouldn't be rubbing his has on the knee, and I can't honestly see that he is rubbing his ass anyways.
If the axe would be bigger, it would be little off the reality :P But that's only what I think .... :p

My grandmother can paint better than that on her sleep!!

Back to work you lazy bastard!!

05-23-2003, 11:43 PM
Ingunn: Sketch has a fascination with viking ass, go figure.

Sketch: see what you started?

Kenzo77: Frazetta rules, I love his work. He's one of my influences no doubt about it.

goosh: what are you doing surfing the net, don't you have General's to play??

05-23-2003, 11:44 PM
Nice!!

05-23-2003, 11:45 PM

You nailed it Goosh!

Blackarts, should take up making fudge for the blind, 'cause your painting looks like you made it out of burnt toast.
Next time lay off the bread products, dude.

Maybe you should like draw some wrestlers or something.

05-23-2003, 11:46 PM

Are you familiar with the magazine Heavy Metal? I heard they're trying to get more digital art into their magazine, and this fits the bill.

There is a message forum as well that's frequented by the magazine staff. They could hook you up with a featured artists position in an upcoming magazine I'm sure. The mag isn't for everyone, but this painting reminded me of some of the style of work I've seen there.

05-24-2003, 03:29 AM

yeah I dig heavy metal, I'll check out that link. thanks!

What everyone else said !

Would make a cool wallpaper... :wip: :airguitar  :bounce:

To me his shoulder area has this nice "motion blurrish" effect going on I really like that. I can't really place my finger on why... maybe it's just the implied lines created by that cool fringe on his vest. It also looks like this guy has been battling for a long time....well at least I hope he has. He doesn't look like the type that would let goblins/orcs get a drop on him on the edge of a cliff. That being said...I'd like to see a little more blood on that axe :)

I like the more loose look on the cliffs but that one area under the front orc's arm... it just seems to make the cliff top seem a little flat. Especially when the color kind of goes around the dagger blade. I lose the 3d illusion right there I think.

Very awesome though :)

05-24-2003, 03:47 PM
looks great!

i love that oil painting feel, has alot of atmostphere to it.

would look even better if you showed the guy who got kneed, some saliva spewing from his mouth to show impact.....

need some dynamics in the pic

but full points anyways for looks and feel.....:applause:

05-24-2003, 05:36 PM

06-12-2003, 05:47 AM
Good work, but the style of drawing in body is too gentle, and your work trying to describe a kind of strong & powerful feeling, isn't it? :)

06-12-2003, 09:29 AM
Melikes the action and the overall colors used! I wish I can create quality work like that when I'm bored ;)
