Absolutely indispensable for all things script-related is ScriptSpot:

Much in the same vein as ScriptSpot is Scripts@tdp.nu:
note that this does not appear to be updated as frequently as ScriptSpot.

Aside from here (hopefully!), the best place to go for answers to all your script queries:
The support.discreet.com WebBoard (http://support.discreet.com/webboard/wbpx.dll/%7E3dsmax)
see the Maxscript section. Registration required.

This guy fields at least half of the Q's on support.discreet.com, but oddly lacks a homepage - Swami Lama. Here's a ScriptSpot listing of his contributions to the community:
Swami's Scripts (http://www.scriptspot.com/Main_Scripts.asp?Sort=Name&BrowseType=Search&SearchField=swami)
for you scripters, don't miss Swami's Wad-O-MXSWads (http://www.scriptspot.com/Extensions/Wads/Wad-O-MXSWads!-v1_01.zip) extension!

One of the Lords of Maxscript, IMO - Borislav Petrov (Bobo):

And the homes of some other noteworthy Maxscripters:

Roger Hyde (http://www.scriptspot.com/rhyde)

Steve Johnson (http://www.chuggnut.com/)

Herman Saksono (http://maxres.cgworks.com)

Martijn Van Herk (http://magicm.cgcommunity.com/)

Chris Subagio (http://www.3dluvr.com/subagio/scripts.html)

Grant Adam (http://members.optushome.com.au/ghra/scripts.htm)

Ofer Zelichover (http://www.tdp.nu/ofer/Scripts.html)

Definite "mad props!" go to Meshtools' author Laszlo Sebo, whose website seems to be a bit under construction at the moment:)

Virtual Republic Boboland (http://www.scriptspot.com/bobo/)
some particle flow tutorials

LOR DVD (http://lotsofrobots.com/store/lor_store_tuts.htm)
a must-have DVD. "Lots of Robots" from Andy Murdock

Hi All,

I am also a Maxscript developer (among others).

My web site contains a few Maxscript files and I also have forums where you can post your requests as well as developers questions : http://www.dl3d.com

I also provide on demand training sessions about Max SDK and Maxscript in English with support documents that could be a book (I am thinking about writing one when I have time...:)

I also dabble in maxscript but most of my tools are geared towards improving animation workflow.

Feel free to send me script ideas. If a suggestion inspires me, I may well take up the challenge. :)

I've got a new book out, MAXScript Made Easy (http://www.powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?inkey=91-193295001x-0), an inexpensive downloadable e-book.

This is also the curriculum for the first part of the MAXScript course I teach with Bobo at CGSociety (http://workshops.cgsociety.org/courses/000030/). The current class is already in session, but there will probably be another one offered in May 2007. If you want to be informed when the new class starts, contact biljana@ballisticmedia.net (http://forums.cgsociety.org/biljana@ballisticmedia.net).

I saw a fellows web page not too long ago where he wrote a maxsript .pdf eBook and was selling it for about $7.00USD.

Does anyone know the link and/or if it's any good?

That's my book, and I'm a girl, sorry. :) See my earlier message in this thread. I use it to teach MAXScript and my students love it.

Hi guys and girls,

I wonder if is there a way to scale a polygon base upon the distance from the camera.

Any help would very appreciated.

Hi Carlos,

Yes it is possible! I can't help you right now, but I'll try to give you a hand in a few hours.

Can you post this question in a new thread? This isn't really a resources question. :)

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I found it recently and it seems pretty useful.

"Rosetta Code is a programming chrestomathy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/programming_chrestomathy) site. The idea is to present solutions to the same task in as many different languages as possible, to demonstrate how languages are similar and different, and to aid a person with a grounding in one language in learning another. Rosetta Code currently has 304 tasks, and covers 143 languages, though we do not have solutions to every task in every language. A variety of tasks (http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Category:Solutions_by_Programming_Task) are listed, and visitors to this site are invited to solve the tasks in the language of their choice. The tasks cover everything from the mundane Empty Program (http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Empty_Program) to the esoteric Towers of Hanoi (http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Towers_of_Hanoi)."
