Hello,

Could someone point me to a noise texture for XSI (not a Perlin type noise generator but a noise generator like the one in After Effects or Photoshop?). Is there one in XSI? I can't seem to find it.

thanks!

You're aware those are Perlin noise generators, aren't you.

If you are in essentials or advanced you can use any FXtree node in-beteween image clips.
Put a plain white map in your shader, then go in the FXtree and Clips>select your clip there. Then plug an add noise effect after the image file, and output the noise back to the clip and you are done.

No, I wasn't aware they were based on Perlin noise. They do seem to work differently then the fractal shader in XSI which is what I associate with the "look" of Perlin noise, coming from After Effects.

So while I'm at it, thank you Mr. Perlin!
