View Full Version : Brightness Contrast Hotkey?

What is the default hotkey for BC?

There isn't one.
Just open the IMAGE/Adjust menu and look to the right of the options. If there is no hotkeys shown, then there isn't one. Too many options, not enough keys.
Albeit... you COULD create an Action to open that filter, and assign the Action to your OWN hotkey(s). :bounce:

Some people would suggest that at least part of the reason is that Brightness & Contrast is not as good as other commands such as say Levels or Curves, that's why those have shortcuts and B&C doesn't.
As theGUEST suggested though, create an Action with an F-Key for any command that doesn't have a shortcut.

Oh i agree whole-heartedly Dave... the B&C filter is somewhat of a "toy" in comparison to using the other level adjustment filters.
No arguement there! :bounce:

Intro to Curves (http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photoshop/curves1.html) by Steve.
Play with it.
Get to know it.
Once I learned how Curves work, I never looked at Brightness/Contrast again. It does everything Brightness/Contrast does and a whole lot more.
Plus it's got a hotkey: ctrl + m.
Curves rock! (http://w3.chrlmi.cablespeed.com/~halmich/ozone/zcurves.jpg)
