I just upgraded to Painter X and I am trying to import some of my Illustrator files into Painter. I'm getting an error message saying "File contains no bounding box, may not be a valid Illustrator file". Some simple files aquire with no problem, however, complex, multi-layered files won't. Any ideas?

Save (Save As) your file in Illustrator as an Illustrator 3 file. It's an older file format that is still almost universal. A lot of cad programs use this format too.

A funny thing, Painter handles Illustrator files better than Photoshop to my mind. It keeps all the stroke info and works with the vector objects as shapes. Go figure.

Thanks, I'll try that. I tried ver 9, then 8. I should have guessed ver 3 since my CAD programs require that ver.
