Hi, what are the steps to rig in XSI (i dont mean create the rig itself)
more like how to set the skin.

i have the model, set the shapes. bring the rig model (guide lines for autorig)
set envelope, click on the group (that will deforme the mesh)
and after that?
i create the mirror weights? and then paint?
or how do i do that part, i read the docs, but they confusme a little.

Thanks guys =).

Looks like they haven't converted/uploaded the rest of the Production Series onto the community site.

You can view the Enveloping stuff here:

With XSI you don't have to do shape animation before enveloping- you can do that at any time etc.

The videos dwigfor suggested are a great set. I wish more people would take advantage of them (all of them) as there is a lot of solid information in there.

If you need a bit more structure in the form of a more sequential tutorial to walk you through the process look at 3Dtutorial ( and 3Dmastermind (
