"The Dagger"

You have 45 mn for your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.

Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming

This is my first post on this kinda of thread so bear with me if I get things wrong at first.

So to start, here goes a simple sketch done on photoshop cs3 on the subject "the dagger" done on the 45m given. So that you know, I'm not much of speed painter. I like to take my sweet time doing my drawings, but this can prove to be an improving experience on my skills by doing stuff like this.

Now, on to the next one.

CS3 - 38 min.

It's so very not impressive. Like the other sketches I tried to do and didn't post. But I had to post this time so I could pretend I didn't just waste forty minutes of my life. Again.

But if you want to critique it, I'll be sure to listen. :) I won't turn down free knowledge, that's for sure.

Daily Sketch is all about participating and desire to become a better artisit.
This is a great space to make experiences and learn.
One should not be ashamed of posting his/her attempts.

Have fun and please don't stop posting :)

^^Agreed!! Look at my sketch (the first one) I woke up and was dead tired and let me tell you, yours is much better than mine =P it's all about practice and making yourself better.

All of you sketchers are sweet. :)

But, I never meant I'd stop participating, just that I have had a particularly rough time sketching anything the last few weeks. So, I guess what I was trying to say was that I was really bummed about my anti art block and I decided I'd force myself through sketch, regardless of quality, to help get through it.

Thank you for your support. I really appreciate it. It's too bad we can't immortalize this conversation as a reference for everyone nervous about joining the DSF. Saying we're open and accepting to beginners in a FAQ just isn't the same as letting them see for themselves.

Thanks again!
