View Full Version : sculpting appearing low resolution

Hi, i'm recent to mudbox, when i try to use the stencils and
stamps tools, the brush seems to merely push the geometry out in low resolution clumps, instead of actually painting texture into the mesh.
Have i set it up incorrectly?
Processor crippling levels of subdivision seem to do nothing to improve the quality of the stencil.
If this resonates with someone, i'd appreaciate clarification on what i'm failing to do.

hi, i dont get your problem right. perhaps you should post some screenshots

is it because the stencils are too low in pixel resolution?

yeah thats it! they look fine on the screen, but they brush in super low res. Do i have to tweak something before i can paint?

first, you have to generate enough subdivisions with :shift+d
then paint youself a stencil in photoshop with screenres 2048x2048..
then import this one to the stencils.
that should do fine
