View Full Version : exaggerating "banking" of instanced particles

I would love to push the "banking" of instances particles, like paper planes, etc. When you assign velocity as the aimVector that gives you a good center point.
what would I use to multiply the appearance of the rotation along the instances X axis?

If for example you have instanced "birds", when they take a sharp turn, they would stick their feet out in the opposite direction of their movement.

whats the best way to accomplish this?

not sure if this is the best way to do it, but I found a solution to my problem and though I would share.

If you want your particles to "bank" more or less, create two userVectorPP attributes.

capture the particles velocity and connect it to the first userVectorPP. Set the instanced particles AimDirection to userVector1PP.

set userVector2PP = <<1,0,0>>

make this this AimUpAxis,

then you can make another atturibute and use it to multiple against the Y velocity to tone down the banking.
