I would like to purchase a book abt scripting! What do you guys think about Mel Scripting for Maya Animators???
or what would you preferre??

Generally, the reviews are very encouraging. The biggest issue people seem to have with it is that there's less material on character rigging than on effects animation. (Oh, and the MEL veterans who read it and say "This is too simple for me!! Why don't we get to see how the Dinosaur muscle and skin system worked??") :D

hi, i orederered both complete maya programming , and mel scripting for maya animators. the one by david gould im reading now so far has helped me alot. i nkow nothing about programming but its so far been easy enough for steve lawnchair to understand. although a few things in it are still to advanced for me. cya

If you have both books, you'd probably be better off starting with mine, as most of the people I've talked to seem to think it's a gentler introduction for beginners. Once you're through it, David's book has all kinds of great information that's outside the range of what we cover.
