It seems rather strange that there have been 3 votes that are all 5 stars, but no one commented..

Pretty good looking reel though, the bat-ish character seemed to have plenty of controls to get it into the exact shape needed.

Great reel! Loved the OZ mini, so thanks for sharing with us.

Very nice stuff! Its cool to see you are solid in both Maya and XSI as well. Anthem has got some pretty cool things going :)

04 April 2008, 10:55 PM
That's some really awesome work you've got there.

04 April 2008, 10:56 PM
really nice work!
too bad you don't mention the track / artist used. What's the name of the song please ?
(great choice of music btw)

04 April 2008, 10:57 PM
very nice work, the speed of it at times is a little dizzy.

04 April 2008, 11:57 PM
Have to say I have really enjoyed the level of really impressive rigging reels here on CGtalk. Its a very esoteric topic which I feel is finally starting to get the Face time it deserves.

Thanks for the Excellent Work

Very nice work. I like the setup for the wings and the mossy strands. Looks very intuitive from an animators standpoint. Facial setup on the bat looks sweet as well.

04 April 2008, 12:35 AM
How did you do the wing simulation ? IS it cloth?

04 April 2008, 12:46 AM
nice work man!
really like those rigs especially the flying monkey one.
Should tell ken and brian to post their stuff too, :)

04 April 2008, 01:03 AM
Brilliant work. My only crit would be the last example didn't seem to add much to your reel. Other than that I really liked it, especially the flying monkey example.

04 April 2008, 01:35 AM

Thanks everyone for the comments and CG Society for the front page!

WesleyTack: The soundtrack that I used for my demo reel is a track that I actually purchased for private use and did not have an artist name. I just liked it!

webhead: I uploaded a breakdown ( with the names of the projects.

5sense: Ciao Miodrag! Bello sapere che ti e' piaciuto!

Jboskma: Everything is cool man, I hope to rig one of your great models in the future!

04 April 2008, 01:37 PM
Gr8 work Giorgio !
I still keep your vfs reel in my favorites folder :)
So how is it like rigging in maya after rigging in xsi ? any major differences ? was the transition easy ? and which do you prefer at the moment ?

cheers !

04 April 2008, 07:20 PM
Great reel you've got going there Gio.

I never got to see the wing/wind controls, very nice! Every time you showed me rigging updates it blew me away!

now if only those Tin Man models lived up to the rigs ;)

04 April 2008, 06:28 PM
Absolutely one of the best reels I've seen so far. I found myself staring into my monitor with my jaw in my lap :]. I Especially liked the bird, the snakes, and the whimsical character at the end.

Great work!

04 April 2008, 09:38 PM
Hey Giorgio, incredible rigging reel, I supose that it's funny to animate characters with this level of complexity but seems to be intuitive too.
Excelent work again, specially the bat charcter, I love it.

Awesome man, 5 stars for you.
