This is the basic idea for the alien - I did a quick rig for the alien so that i could pose him in the way that he will be in the image. I still have to rig his tentacles.

changed the texture colour and fur map colour. added a normal map to add to the detail.

this is some renders with all of the 3D elements except the lady and a few prop pieces. I feel the environment lacks in the background.

Hi the monster is so ipressive for me. It looks like some wood sculpture. I would want to seen animation with this character. Render with the pose has some good roughness, as sirealism or decadense painting. In Czech fairy tailes is character called Otesánek. I think that he has similar appearance :)

Thank you Banjavor! just had a look at images of Otesanek and it does look a little similar! - wasn't meant to but it does work.

i did a render test at full res to see if my computer would be capable of rendering the images.

Hey there,

that´s a really scary, alien monster you´ve gotten there.
Really like it alot. Probably because it doesn´t look like
an ogre or a hungered warthog with horna all over it but
more like a mutant orang-utan from deep down the caves!

first look at what the composition will be like. Need to pose the female better and finish the scuplting. The hair needs more work as well the overall image. Not sure about the blue though - will have to see.

I was having a few problems rendering with Maya open - so i have done a few tests with rendering through the command prompt without Maya open and so far so good.

I am editing the environment - adding more detail and definition. need to bring out the alien fur a bit more and maybe have less blur on the alien.

added a bit more specular around the pupils and added more definition to the lips.
