Good luck to everyone!
We are currently planning a film trailer, that depicts the story of a supermarket that has become infested with aliens, and the late night shopping humans who must stop them in their tracks - and survive if they can!
We are aiming for a simple 3d design, a not too serious feel, and a cartoon style with multiple characters. We're looking at reference material at the moment, throwing together some ideas of what a reasonable workload would be. We'll be looking into low-polygon character designs.
There are currently 2 people on the project. We are planning to get some more on board once we know what we are doing! I'm guessing our plan is to establish something of a pitch or basic concept, then get some concept artists on board to create our storyboards and character sheets, and then begin production.

We are just about ready to get some conceptual guys on board to try and nail preproduction. We think we almost know what we are doing!
We have a basic story for the trailer. These are the vibes I want to try and get across.
We are at a supermarket
Something alien comes, isn't very threatening.
People are scared / confused
The alien begins to infest / eating people
People lockdown themselves in, and unite to kill the alien
The previous plan was maybe not so wise
The alien is very smart
People are horrifed / dying
The alien seems unstoppable!
I think we are going to go for a cartoon horror style, kind of like a halloween episode of The Simpsons. The human character designs are my biggest worry at the moment. Our backgrounds will be very simple.
Here are some scribbles.

Here is some of the storyboard images we have so far. They are not final, and there are plenty of bits missing, so do not read this as the actual structure of the story.

Been doing some more storyboards here and there, and a little boggled with work :scream: I think we're just going to start making stuff at this stage; there are a few moments in here that are enough to string something together.
Sorry for extra large image!
Have also been thinking about the color over time, where the show gets more dramatic towards the end, the intensity changes.

Hey really nice sketches! I like the way you storyboarding and how you explain ur idea!
it's simple but effective, inspire me to do something like to clear my way!
All the way, GOodluck buddy and keep it up!

Hey, thanks for the feedback mim-Armand! The 'simple' idea is currently being simplified further, but hopefully will be just as effective!
I've been worried about the creature in the storyboards; I wanted him to be a mass of tentacles, with a 'body' in the centre. However animating these tentacles I wanted to not use any simulation, as it might look too fluid and contend with our character animation. So I made a test with Skullworm, a little guy you might remember from earlier scribbles (at this point, he is actually the character in the red cap in #9 from the storyboards.. who is actually the one getting decapitated in #31... I'll update the storyboards soon :P)
Anyway, this is the result! His tentacles assume 3 roles; pullers at the front, rollers on the side, and on the back they slither like snakes. This might not work exactly the same as the big alien, as he'll simply have more and bigger tentacles, but I think it's a step in the right direction.

Oops! I just noticed I hadn't officially submitted anything!
Here are some basic scribbles of the creatures I am wanting to put into our supermarket. Also playing with some human shots as well.

Some more creature and human scribbles. Just trying to get an idea of the style and theme at this point.

Assembled some shots I had in mind, just playing with a few ideas from the scribbles.

Some potential storyboard shots for early on in the trailer. Trying to quickly establish the world, the supermarket, some characters, etc.
