View Full Version : Rendering FG source

hi all,

does anyone know if its possible to have an FG source in the camera without having it seen in the render? i have a scene where the FG light source (grid) is actually visible in the camera but i obviously don't want it to be seen in the actual render. i've tried turning off the Primary Visibility in the Visibility properties and that didn't change anything. any other suggestions?

Turn off Visibility > Rendering Tab > Ray Visibility "Primary"
That should do the job.

Do you mean its directly in view of the Camera? Its not behind any transparent objects or just in a reflection or anything?

yes its directly in view of the camera.

if that doesn't work it means that the object is returning secondary rays, maybe because at the point it's reached it's behind a refractive object.
