how can I reverse the normals of an object in Modo?
I have imported a mesh and I am supposing all the normals are facing inwards?

Those faces are also not rendering. Are there separate settings for the
normals in the rendering and in the display?

Also, how can I make all faces visible in the viewport, not just the outward facing faces?

maybe i am expressing this wrong... surely this is something that can be easily fixed in a mesh, correct?
I think the problem I am having as that some polygons are facing inward.
Is there a way to force all polygons to be visible in the editor view ,

and also a way to have those inward facing polygons render?
Any input is appreciated

Firstly select the model and go into polygon mode, then in the tab the left goto polygon, there you will see flip, click it and there you go . That should stop the faces from not rendering too, but you could also add a double sided material, this is a simple check box in the material editor.

Demo-ing Modo, so I am trying to adjust,
got both of these figured out now.

Is there a way though to show both sides if polygons in the editor view?

no, not in wireframe mode.
Fully shaded, but where I can see both sides of a polygon.
Most programs do this.

It would be usefull with imported geometry, to see where the faces are flipped, and where there are missing polygons...

Solid mode with display the mesh as double sided.

If you want to flip all normals, select these polygons and press F. If there are only a few polys which are flipped, then use the "Align" Command. Geometry>Polygon>Align or on the left hand in the polygon tab of the modo tools.You don't need to select anything first and you'll see if there really are holes in the geometry after you used the align command.

Another way to find holes:

now you press Shift (ctrl works in that case too) and you see how the "edges" button changes to "+Bounds" .. Klick it and all the boundaries of your mesh will be selected. ( if you haven't selected anything else before) This way you can see where you've got flipped polys and holes.

you can Close that holes with P. (If you keep the boundaries selected )

If you directly use the "Align" tool, which you can see on the left here, all your normals will be aligned and the flipped ones dissapear.
