View Full Version : Transparency and alpha channel

Hi guys, here my doubt: I know that to store transparency informations I have to add the alpha channel to an image and tweak it to get my transparency needs... If I created a new image with a transparency background, tweak the image, and save it as psd or tiff, I know I can get transparency informations in my image without adding an alpha channel... my question is: in which way these file formats store this transparency information considering that i have just the rgb channels? what are the differences between use this transparency in this way and use a standard alpha channel?

bye and thanks for any answears

The alpha channel is for software other than Photoshop.
