View Full Version : THE THRILLBILLIES, Dean Armstrong (2D)

Name: Dean Armstrong
Country: USA
Software: Painter, Photoshop

Here are a couple of characters who have discovered a new thrill. "What is that thang?" "Reckon I don't rightly know... LET'S RIDE IT!"

This piece was from an old concept I never finished. I was inspired to complete it after seeing the great art here on CG Society. I re-drew it and rendered it with Photoshop and Painter. Like all the piece in my CG portfolio it was done strictly for fun and from my head. It was fun to paint. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for looking in. Ya'll come back now ya hear! LOL

Until I looked a bit more closely, the guy's hat looked like a piece of metal. You painted it a bit too shiny looking I think.

Other than that its really cool.

Thanks everyone for the comments! It's fun to share and a little intimidating throwing your work out there for review. And I agree aesir that the old felt hat does seem too shiny. Since I signed it I'll probably leave it but that is the haunting thing about digital art... when is it done? I swear I could work on stuff forever. LOL

wow, very cool! I love the plasticity, color palette and zip. The guy reminds me of the actor in "army of darkness" (not sure if this is the english title of the movie, in german it was "armee der Finsternis". :)

Very nice style. I especially like the small details like the motion blur in the background and the dust particles under the frogs feet.
