Virtual R/C Rally Race (

If you missed us at NAB, check out this recent press about our real time pre-visualization techniques, as visualized by our Virtual R/C rally race. Using Vicon motion capture technology and Kaydara realtime software, we captured miniature remote controlled race cars on a small 3 x 3 foot set LIVE to create a fully real time rendered Mini-Cooper Rally Race. As the real world R/C cars ran around the track, the audience could simultaneously watch their virtual Mini Cooper counterparts race around the virtual computer modeled turnabout set, from both real and virtual camera locations. At NAB we showed what could be done in a 9 square foot area, but here on Red Eye’s 5,000 square foot stage we can do the same thing with a full-scale production, using human actors, real cameras, true light and full-scale set pieces. Using our staff and techniques, a director can not only pre-visualize shots, lighting, camera motion and effects for TV and Film, but also record both miniature and full scale Digital data for use with their digital effects and post production teams. Imagine choreographing a complex effects shot in miniature right in your boardroom, while simultaneously generating a fully 3D dataset of your camera angles, and motion for use by the digital effects team. Now imagine the time and money you’ll save by pre-producing your next project with Red Eye Studio!
