View Full Version : porting an Image Sequence from windows to a mac?

05-08-2003, 02:27 AM
heya folks,

i've noticed that moving a numbered image sequence from windows to a mac funkifies the names and ruins the numbering.

so... is there a certain naming convention or workflow for getting a numbered image sequence from windows to a mac?

[edit] this is the naming convention that i'm currently using:

windows: name.###.ext
mac converts this to: na.~##.ext

it cuts off the name and arbitrarily renumbers the sequence.

thanks in advance!

try keeping the name + numbering to 8 characters or less eg file0001.tga, file0002.tga etc. I take it the Mac is not on osX? I've been able to send over files with long filenames so problem at all since our mac upgraded to OSX

yup, you're right. all i had to do was rename them with a shorter name and they transferred over smoothly. (i'm using a mac here with OS 8.x on it.)

thank you for your help chris.
