View Full Version : 8.5 fluid cache copy locally driving me crazy

my single cache file is around 2 gigs, i set the Copy Cache File Locally option to off after i created my cache according to the doc, yes in this way file saving is much faster , because

Now when you open your scene, Maya does not copy your fluids cache to the temporary directory, and when you save your scene, Maya does not copy your fluids cache from the temporary directory to the permanent location.

but after saving my scene several times, the cacheFilename attr on my fluid cache node always change,

it should be ground_blast_002.mb_fluid_main_blastShape.mcfp, even if i change it back, after 2-3 save, it changed back to that weird long name. and i can't see my fluid in scene.

is this a side effect of .copyLocally attr?

I'm on maya 8.5 sp1. and i have my project set up correctly.
