having problems with hard edges on objects. what can you do to keep the edges from constricting when subdividing? for example, let's say i'm wanting to add wooden pannels to a wall, when the wall subdivides it turns into a spherical shape and the edges start pulling the uv's around. this is mainly for normal mapping purposes, any advice would be appreciated.

beside the "subdivide menutext" is a small symbol, click it and uncheck "smooth positions" before subdividing.
