View Full Version : Mapping particles acceleration using a 2d texture?

I've got a particle cloud, I want to send little ripples through it.

I thought to project a water texture into the cloud and map it into the particle's acceleration, so as the ripples spread through the texture they give each particle a little kick in a certain direction.

But although it's easy enough to use a ramp to set particles acceleration, how's it done with a projected 2d texture?
