hi everyony,

this is the final pic of the mage, I used deep paint for the textures.

I am heading for making another character and I want it to be perfect, so please give me as much critiques and feedback as possible :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Nice Job, I love your textures. Only thing I'd like to see is some more shape to the nose. Seems a bit flat on the sides, and the gem on the turban needs more reflection or some kind of glossy material (like shellac). How did you do the hair? It turned out great. Definately gonna be fun to animate.

I agree on the nose. Looks somewhat edgy.
His eyes looks like they were the size of tennisballs! make them smaller.
LOVE the hat! very nice textures. But the shirt and the other blue cloth he´s wearing... it´s hard to see what kind of cloth it is. Shame when all the others are so clearly (and skillfully) shown.

thanks everyone,

i agree the nose needs more details, i made it from only 8 polygons!! then subdivided, i was afraid to add more polys that will distort the cheecks area and destroy the flow of the face, But i wont let u down, ... i will have to find some workaround :hmm: ,

for the eyes i intend to make them like that! it is the design idea,
i didnt mean to make this character real like!

hair was made by maya's standard hair tools and some control curves, and yeah u are right GRMac13 the hair looks fantastic in animation :thumbsup:

Personally, I love the eyes. As every animator knows, they are the key to good facial animation, and with those big peepers you'll get some very expressive poses out of that character. You have got to post again once he's animated.

thanks again GRMac13! I am glad u like the eyes,that is the point i was getting into, this mage will have very expressive attitudes, and that way i can get far beyond a mere 3d talking-mesh!

and yes!!! the nose is much better now !! :scream:
a little tweaks doesn't hurt anyone,
