Well, its certainly been a long time!
I'm Alex, creator and lead designer of the "Angels Fall First" universe. For those who don't know of us already (which I'm sure is almost everyone!) AFF is a collaborative media project centered around an original scifi universe. We are entirely community driven and have worked on a variety of endeavors ranging from art gallery shows to standalone games based around the AFF IP. At the moment, our current big initiative is Angels Fall First: Planetstorm, that blends light tactical aspects with traditional fps gameplay in large battlefields in space and on the ground.
Its been quite some time since we've posted anything here, but we're happy to re-announce our project, show off some goodies, and perhaps find a few folks interested in helping out.

Our goal for this year is modest; we are developing a proof of concept piece for AFF: PS. Our main focus is to develop a pair of levels around Planetstorm's two core gametypes (Naval Invasion & Planetary Assault) which will hopefully act as a test-bed and showcase for future development. We've already put a good deal of effort in establishing the art direction and general content and we are at the point where we need some serious help taking things to to the next level (in terms of art volume). The levels in question are, for the most part, already outlined andin-game. However, a good deal of work needs to be done to refine (and in some cases re-imagine) parts of the concept to make them tighter and more content rich.
We are currently looking for persons to help out in three distinct areas;
- Storyboarding/Map Detailing -
Though we have plenty of talented concept artists aboard, we are looking for someone with experience putting together design treatments of existing scenes to assist our level deisgners (and artists) build cohesive environments which guide action and reinforce the dramatic elements of Planetstorm's features.
- Architecture Design -
We're looking for someone to provide a spot of help coming up with unique building design that matches the AFF aesthetic. Since our proof of concept on calls for a single ground-mission, this individual's work will be limited to designing approximately a dozen pieces of semi-modular architectures and perhaps half as many set-piece buildings along with basic internals (volume and some structure). ideally, this person should be able to both develop concepts in 2D and then build them in some common 3D format (texture skill is a must).

- Prop Modeling -
To alleviate pressure on the rest fo the staff, we are looking for several folks to assist us modeling the various props that will populate the levels which will range from cups, desks, chairsm, flora (and fauna), all the way up to construction equipment and other large components. These will all be light jobs, however they are vitally important for us to give our principle artists some breathing room. Obviously, we set a high standard when it comes to quality, however this is a great way to get involved without reams of experience as a barrier of entry (also great for those looking to expand their portfolio).

Please include some representation of your work, this could be an excerpt from a novel, or technical document, a picture (drawn, rendered, digitized, etc), demo reel, or link to a webpage/art gallery. Basically, something (anything!) that can give us an indication of your level of skill. For those interested in more code/scripting related things, please provide an example of something you have done before, this could include a code snippet or program (via link) constructed in a common language either native to the gaming engines the project works with (lua, mel, etc) or to the field of programming in general (C, C++, Java, Shockwave, etc). Note that we are currently working heavily with the Unreal 3 engine, so uscript examples are highly recommended.
