***UPDATE Final concept***

Name: Serpina
Race: Human
Class: Clericon
Artifact Weapon: Summoning
Pet: Possessed stuff animal "Azazel"

After reading the storyline and ideas behind this year’s competition, I pictured a world that has degenerated backwards into a tribal/clan states. In which societies are closer to the hunter/gather and a solid belief in spirits, demons and the power of magic. My character's name is Serpina, she is one of priestess of her clan. Her abilities are in the art of summoning the dead either in spirit form or possessions.

Her clothing will be rather simple, loincloth leather chap and found objects; keeping with the tribal ideas. As for defenses she is armed with the artifact "Staff of God" that she uses to summon the dead and can use in maylay attacks. You can always find at her side Azazel which can be a troublemaker if he wants to be. (

Here's a little update on the previous concept, changed the costumes a bit; removed the bone back piece (it felt a bit too busy with them) and changed out the skull mask with the cat one (a little less morbid I think). Also added a bone gauntlet and what I think can work for her artifact, the necklace, that once her power are invoked will glow a whitish color.

Right now I'm thinking that the CGTalk logo will go onto the belt buckle (at least for now).

On the mask, I thinking that I will be making it like a children Halloween mask but distressed with all the ages that has passed since a child has wore it.

On the next run I'm planning to add some trinkets and skrunken heads hanging on her belt and in her hair too. I'm also wondering if I should build into her left arm something that would act like an enhancer for her magical ablities.

Still have a bit more to develop; crits and suggestion welcome.

I couldn't help it and stayed up way to late last night doing the base model. Figuired that it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and knock it out while the concept is being fine tuned. Right now I'm running about 5500 tris for everything. (

After getting the input from a friend I may pull the comical aspect of the kitty mask. Here are some more helmet concepts, I'm leaning in the direction of the first one. Couple of reasons: seems like everybody does ram horns and winged helmets and the bull horns will require less poly. But then again I'm hearing my my guys they like the third. Thoughts? (

here's a little update: added Azazel (the stuff animal), shrunken heads and made the 3 version of the helmet. Since I'm under budget by 1200 tris I may add a corpse for her to have control over. (

A wee update on the character still have to add some more detailing on her before continueing on to Azazel and the copse, hopefull I'll start working on the helmet and boots shortly. I'm loving what u are doing for the torso, specially the rib details, it looks so clean and smooth. Also the bizarre proportions are disgustingly cool.

well I was referring to fiend the skeleton of misfits, but danzing also because he was the first vocalist of misfits.

Second that. Very skilled execution of the model. The style is consistent too, which is very good for something rare as this. If you keep up the good work I think you will do very good.

ok been busy for the last week or so with internal production. Here's a quick render of the posed cage model with the normal, transparency, and ambeint occlusion maps. Hopefully will have sometime to paint the diffuse and spec soon. (

Update with ambient occlusion, diffuse, specular, normal, opacity and incandescence maps. Made a minor change to the pose and decided to remove the skull mask in favor for showing her face. As always crits and comments are welcome. (

Really nice work here. Just thought I would mention, don't forget to include the important info on your winning pose image such as (class, race, power etc). Otherwise, you did a great job. Congrats on finishing!

ahhhh crap, been busy wrapping up this before leaving on vacation that I forgot to add that info (it wasn't on the example so didn't think about it, hopefully I didn't shot myself in the foot there). Other words already submitted :(
