Wanted to go with some demon type character... pure evil.
I liked the design of the bottom right so decided to go with that and developed it into this:
He is a fire warlord and his artifact is a battering ram wrapped in chains which he uses to crush, ram, squash everything. It is made up a type of meteoric type of rock which emits fire shards/particles. On his right hand is a huge gauntlet that has fingers which can shoot out like a harpoon and spear enemies. His weak point is a large fire crystal thing which is located in the belly of the beast. It gives him superhuman strength and power.

badass looking!!! i especially like the artifact, and in my opinion i'd make it bigger to fit even more with the proportions of the character! great work!

s'pretty cool so far, i actually like the one at the very top more, if his head was where the left shoulder is instead of to the side, i think the one you've chosen might look more menacing if you couldn't see his face, just a black shadowy void in that area. just a thought.

dmightyone: Yeah, I'm thinking about making his artifact slightly larger so it feels like a burden to carry but devastatingly destructive. I can experiment with the size of it when doing the model.
ScudzAlmighty: Which thumb do you like more? The one with the wings at top or the one top right? I like that having no head and void idea... he is a fire warlord so maybe engulfing the whole head in fire could work.

pretty friggin epic, man. The armor design is awesome, I've always loved faces in armor. The only thing that doesn't flow with me is the right hand, does he have long fingers? It could just be the drawing and once it's modeled it'll look right.

etd382: The fingers can be long or short, just depends on how he uses them. They are supposed to be retractable harpoon type spears that can shoot out and pierce enemies and then retract back into his gauntlet again. You know the character Scorpion from Mortal Kombat? Something similar to that except all this guys fingers do it.

Hey guys, my mind is always tinkering and I came up with another idea last night, this time more of a beast type of a thing. His artifact weapon is a fire wheel which is a brace attached to the front of his mouth and it minces up anything it rolls over- sort of like a steam roller- and all the gibs go straight into the beasts mouth. He is controlled by goblins or devil minions.
Now the thing is, I still like my original concept idea of the fire demon, however I was just wanting your opinions as to which ones you guys like the best. So, which one should I go for?

I think both ideas are really great and have originality. But I definitely am loving the fire warlord the most. He just looks like he could obliterate just about anything and the battering ram is insane.

The monster with the wheel is uniqer idea than the fire deamon but the demon have more style.

Some pretty cool designs here!
But the battering "RAM" weapon was already drawn up by Brutikong... here:
So you're probalby going to have to re-think that!
One other critique would be to give your design some areas of breathing room, meaning to have some low detail parts to his armor so the crazy detailed chest or whatever will pop more. Right now it's a very busy design.
Interested to see how it turns out!

Incredible design so far, I adore the middle design from the thumbs(Looks more like a summoned creature though), but the one you pick is ferocious and cool too.

JediHindu: I actually had the battering idea in mind a while ago and have not seen Brutikongs concept before so did not know he was also doing a type of battering ram. I also posted my concept idea up before he did. Doesn't mean to say we both can't do it. (Update: I just checked his thread and he is doing a different character design now.)
My battering ram is designed such in a way that it is so heavy he needs extra chains and modified steel-like cable attached to his main armour in order to just hold it up. It is also made up of a special meteroic rock which emits fire particles. But, I'll see how it turns out.

Here is my latest update. Just finished a blockout of the whole body. Still have to do his weapon.

Great start! The the body armor is looking great. It looks like you hit your concept spot on, except for the head, but I assume that it's just a stand in.

DUDE!.... i love it. Love the battle ram... but I actually like the details on the tank... tanks actually seem to fit the story, on second glance... or at least something that is one single unit: a creature that is the artifact.
On the tank i like the round orbs... they look like squid eyes... which are creepy.

blindsyte: His armour is powered by a fire artifact but obviously he needs a weapon so the battering ram is part of the artifact as well.

Here is update so far... I don't have enough ram on my computer to render out the whole hipoly model together so I just took several renders of the stuff I have done so far. At the moment I am in the process of doing the lowpoly. I have not finished with the hipoly as of yet but will leave it for now. After I have done a few renderbump tests I will go back and refine or maybe add some more detail where necessary.
