Hello guys! I'm here fighting for our forum.I 've read the thread and it look awesome so far. I've read the rules and I'm picking Warlord with Dark element. So I came up with this idea that void is sucking everything, and tranlates it to animal: sucking==>syphon===> tako (octopus)===> Octopus! . The class was boring this morning, so I took my sharpie pen and started to sketch. Somehow I found my teacher's wrinkles gives me an idea to start the character... then I combined it with my tako, and it turned out roughly to be something like this:
and then this:
so that's my first entry for this week, hope I can work more next week. hope to hear comments from you to improve it:wise: so we can make something badass for this forum. Thanks in advance!

looks hot! i like the last one especially. I'm thinking how it's gonna move. I guess typically a knight is more bulky and slower, but with octopus legs, it might slide across smoothly. Hmm.. interesting..
the comment about the teacher's wrinkles are hilarious.

02 February 2008, 12:02 AM
hey man! great to see you here!
im watching :)
03 March 2008, 12:07 PM
hooohooo another update from me, I havent decided which way I should go, dead knight, warlord, or creature but it should be somewhere between those two. comments r welkum. btw the artifact weapon is pendant, I mean here is BIg pendant which suck (Gravitiy) everyhting toward him so he can grab it and slash it with his big butcher sword (not buster sword):D
03 March 2008, 01:57 PM
thats awesome stuff! The last sketches are great and looks ver promising:thumbsup:
03 March 2008, 03:24 PM
All you sketches are really beautifull, but my favorite is this one :
because his eyes/face give him a lot of charism, and I would abandon the idea of an helmet !
03 March 2008, 07:11 AM
hi guys, thanks for the input so far! I'm doing my best although my schedule is busy. so here is another quick update while I was in library working with my girlfriend. so here is another darker version and meanier. I was inspired by african tribe which is a head hunter, and they have this cool looking neck ornament and decoration.and she asked me, what are u doing? it looks cute!=_=! sigh girl:love:
anyway, I'll be working on these two version, dark knight or Head hunter. by the way the girl head is his wife (why I mentioned this?)Lol. she is the void element that sucks and devour enemies toward him. Or the guy(husband) can grasp the enemy with tentacles and impale them with Butcher sword (again, not buster sword)
03 March 2008, 08:35 AM
So here is the development of darker version I mentioned earlier, Ken Arok, the head hunter, who hunts head for...food?(taste bad, bleah) when he was a normal warrior, he hunted witch and giants, fight for Truth and honour. but he was fell into trap when he fought giant undead kraken and lost his life. To regain the honour and revenge... he swalled the Black diamond void element which merged him with his prey, and become one body, the Dark Warlord...
mmm It turned out I like this one better somehow.. not my usual type of design which has lots of armor. anyway, I'll develop the other version tomorrow. Any comments welkum! thanks in advance.
03 March 2008, 09:04 AM
This is looking awsome!
03 March 2008, 11:49 AM
give him the freaking buster sword!!!
btw i just finished crisis core, and my conclusion is - Zack > Cloud.
looking good so far dude.
be posting mine in a tiny bit.
03 March 2008, 08:20 AM
a quick color study, i want to make this character dark, really dark,so I can match our team logo.My idea is to make his flesh dark, and leaves some trace of dark aura, when he walks, similar to ink dissolves in water effect. anyway, gotta go to sleep, have class in the morning=_=zzzzzzz thanks for any input by theway, and I agree with Jocz, maybe helmet is not always a good solution, especially to show personality.
03 March 2008, 08:25 AM
quick update for the dead knight version. I solved this piece when I worked in the library and try to simplify things to shape first before go for crazy detail (Ooooo detailsss) So I made a decision rather than putting an armor on the bottom part, why not letting the carapace of the creature takes shape? Actually it turned out to look better and has more look to it. The big horns are tool to knock enemy away, just by a slight turn....imagine being "kissed" by those horns.... For the insignia of our team, I will put it in the back of the skull to fill the empty space . by the way, it's butcher sword (yet again) not buster swordXD I'll see which version people love better, thanks.
03 March 2008, 08:52 AM
this is intresting, skull as the lower half, but i think more arms or legs are batter then the tanticles.
just my opinion.
03 March 2008, 09:10 AM
man i love your skecthes. really nice concept! i like how he's coming along. keep it up!
03 March 2008, 07:40 AM
color sketch update on this one, I think I've decided to go with the dead knight version. since I've been waiting an opportunity to create my own knight version^^ I'll try to break down the armor later on the orhtographic drawing, takes time though, but I'll do my best and I will add the final illustration once I finalized everything.http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff179/kukut27/concept11.jpg
03 March 2008, 10:52 AM
update on orthograpich drawing. Still searching to finalize the design using digital, it's more effective this way, so I stay away from my doing my pencil sketches, since the deadline is getting near.will post the overall update very soon. by the way, the cgs logo is inside the armor of the octopus and the back http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff179/kukut27/concept12.jpg
03 March 2008, 05:04 PM

My Dominance War III
03 March 2008, 09:21 PM
great work! love the sketches and the painting looks like it has a lot of potential.
03 March 2008, 09:22 AM
yo guys! been awhile! I'm here to post work in progress, lastly I decided to go with the Celtic-ethnic warlord instead, since the knight one looks like FFXII too much=_= lack of originality. First one is another sketch, 2nd one is the one I'm working on right now for Orthography requirement. And I feel more comfortable to work with patternXD anwyay, comments always welcome even in the last stage.Thank you and good luck to you all.
04 April 2008, 06:44 AM

Here is another update for today, I'll post again in 2 days. (I maybe change the blade though, for some reason doesnt match)
04 April 2008, 07:36 AM
