02-21-2008, 11:54 PM
WHEEEHAAAAA, my friend!!!How are you man?HAppy to see you in with us on the battlefields!!!
Grap your pencils and kill then!
ONE BIG CHEERS to you mate!

02-22-2008, 01:11 AM hey, it's time for the first rough, idea, doodle :p

Just got the idea of character between nature and undead. His body mutate into a tree/vegetation thing, opened in the middle, like a blackhole, where he can summon spirits whith his weapon ^^. Not satisfied with the weapon, but it's late for me, and time to go sleeping :p

02-22-2008, 01:13 AM
Good night :) Fantastic concept.

02-22-2008, 01:29 AM
Great Character!

02-22-2008, 01:45 AM
Hey man!
Very nice start.. I like its head and torso alot. I dont think the arms hold the same quality(or simply doesnt fit the rest), though you say its a "rough"(cant wait to see some you've worked some more on :O) so i guess ill wait and see..

Good luck!

02-22-2008, 10:03 AM
I totally agree with you about the arms... I think there are not good at all... but this is why it is a rough hehe ^^
I will certainly rough some other characters to see the one i like the best ;)

02-22-2008, 11:03 AM
I like how you merged the skeletal structure with the 'tree' elements. I especially like how you split the chest area and jaw bone.

02-22-2008, 11:11 AM
Nice concept - how do you see the undead theme relating to the vegetation theme? I like the rendering style.

02-22-2008, 01:48 PM
Thanks REKLAS ;)

I come back later with another one, don't hesitate to tell me what you think about the character and his story ;) (and which one is the most intersting when there will be more than one rough ^^)

02-22-2008, 01:53 PM
So you are dangerous! ))) :argh:

02-22-2008, 06:16 PM
Wow! super! Actually already ready illustration:)

02-23-2008, 02:07 AM
haha, don't know if i'm dangerous ^^'

Here is a second idea...
This character is a kind of soul vampire... she has no mouth and no ears, but she can hear the air, and use it with her "harp". She can manipulate ennemies before eating their souls.
I wanted to give her an instectoid look without being insectoid herself, don't know if i succed in ^^'

Well, here is the "girl":

02-23-2008, 08:45 AM
Trees skeleton i like more. Its fantastic stuff!

02-23-2008, 09:19 AM
I love the tree/organic humanoid design more. Such great detail and design, excellent job!

02-23-2008, 10:11 AM
I love the tree/organic humanoid design more. Such great detail and design, excellent job!

Totaly agreed with you, tree design has powerfull emotion and expression!

02-23-2008, 11:43 AM
I like the first one too... I will do some variations of it... ^^

02-23-2008, 12:01 PM
The first one, definately. The way you had the branches "hold" the skull looks all kinds of awesome. I'd like to see that point really brought the plants are all that keeps the remaining bones together.

02-23-2008, 12:03 PM
Cool stuff.
First one really rocks.

02-23-2008, 08:03 PM
As i said, here is a little variation of the first concept, wanted to try a kind of centaur ^^'

02-23-2008, 09:54 PM
Yeah man! I think this is a killer design. It's a shame I can't take this concept into 3d this year...
I'll be watching your progress so keep it going and best of luck.

02-23-2008, 11:24 PM
yeah you should definitely go the vegetation/undead way.. looks awesome!
try adding some mould and mushrooms in there.. maybe even some grass and weeds. make them look old and rotten like if they just rose from the ground full of pain and anger against all those shitty forums who tries to defeat us :)

02-24-2008, 12:47 AM
Fellah>> Yeah of course, i think that mushrooms, grass and things like that coul be very cool to add some variations in the textures of the character ^^

Faraguay>> Glad to see you posting here man! Sure we can't do a collab during this contest, but maybe later, if you want to ;)

02-24-2008, 03:37 AM
I really like the first one. Keep posting, I will be watching you:)

02-24-2008, 06:55 AM
Sweet. Yeah, you should stick with the skeletal/tree look you got going on (which it already seems like you are, so keep it up). That centaur is awesome. Only crit I would say is maybe think about making her(?) hands/fingers more interesting because they seem really generic. Maybe have some of the fingers be bones, and others vines that wrap around the artifact(s). I get a "jump through my hoops of death" vibe from the rings.

02-24-2008, 07:21 AM
That is some pretty sweet stuff, I like the staff like weapon from the first one and the dynamic pose of the third one.

02-24-2008, 09:15 AM
Right, tree vegetation design is yours!!! Go on with this idea.
But i think last sketch loooks like hes lost balance

02-27-2008, 08:52 PM
I really like the first tree character, the way his torso opens up and all. Not too sure about the staff and the light that encircles it, it clashes somehow with the dark and evil looking character.

I'm gonna check your progress on this, since I'm making a tree character too. :D

Keep it up! :buttrock:

02-27-2008, 09:26 PM
amazing that's all i have to say, how much time do you take making this "ROUGH" desings ? cause I'll have to spend more than 3 hous before making something like that
I have to say that your style is probably my favourite.

02-27-2008, 10:41 PM
Great Skecthes , I really like the first one the most .
Can't wait to see your other designs .

02-27-2008, 10:46 PM
i really really like the style of your drawing...Me too i like the first pieces you did...i'll keep following the evolution of your work...

Good luck! :)

03-11-2008, 03:51 AM
i love the open chest tree zombie! i can see that thing hulking around, summoning a swarm of oily black insects and birds and such.

personally, i don't think he needs the weapon at all. if he does have one, maybe it's grown into his arm? that said, i think it'd be cooler to see the artifact in his chest than on his arm.

very inspiring stuff.
