Hi all
This is my initial idea, and some preliminary thumbs
started roughing in some geometry to sketch over(ill post later)

02 February 2008, 09:20 PM
made a quick base model to paint over, ...trying some things out

That is a definitely a great start.. The armour is the highlight for me as well as the black and red combination.

Looking cool as hell. The spikes on the back are especially delicious. Would like to see the main arms be a bit "weirder" though, if that makes sense. They look almost human to me right now (apart from the big nasty claws, of course).

thats too awesome. i'm loving the design and the color scheme... its kind of the direction i was headed but i was going for a more humanoid one... your character and mine should totally team up!

i would look at some HR Giger reference for getting some of the details on your piece. the alien queen would be some great inspiration.

i don't like the ones with the flags so much, but the one with the big spike crown is definately catching my eye

great! i will keep my eyes on this

>blunt< That does make sense, ...Im just not sure where to go with it at the moment
>riu< Im going to take your advice, and check out some HR Giger stuff, (one of my favorite artists) maybee find a solution to the arms in the process
Thanks for the crit and advice, Id love to hear any suggestions anyone has

Great start!

Whoooh, quit the update. Looks nice and solid. I love the mass to the armor and the shape is great. I said it before and I will say it again make sure it reads and does not get too noisy. Right now everything has the same sort of size and shape to it and nothing really stands out. Texture and lighting can resolve this.

Good job.

Good advice.
I didnt post anything with materials applied, ...but I have been working on the model with basic shaders to get a sense of what should pop, armor in black, body in lighter greyed yellow etc., Ill post again after making some adjustments , I really need some advice on the artifact, I may be overthinking it(and I doubt that would surprise you)

Hrm. I think you overdid it. That is just my opinion. It looks really bubbly to me and I can not tell what is what really. Anyone else? I will also be interested to see how the chain mail looks ripped. Pretty small.

Love the talon claws and the overall shape.

wow dude nice work, very differnt from everyone else, one think I will say is it seems to be wondering more over the the daemon side of things and less insect like as your concept entailed, really like it though armour fits his siloutte so well. I think there are too many dents in his skin he looks like he is withering slightly.

03 March 2008, 03:27 PM
I think Im gonna keep the head and face, ...but make adjustments to everything else, ...Im thinking about pulling it back about 50 %,
Ithink the chain mail will pull out fine in the texture map, itll have a lot of pixel space, but I can increase the size easily, ...any suggestions on how much to scale it up?

03 March 2008, 03:30 AM
wow this is a great idea!!!

Very nice modeling, looks cool

04 April 2008, 11:33 AM
looks great man. really original design.

04 April 2008, 12:41 AM
Calling it done, ...
theres plenty that could be better ,fixed, ...tweaked, ..adjusted etc..etc...
but ...DONE

04 April 2008, 12:44 AM
dude you posted 2 model updates before the final one. That's funny. I hope you dont get disqualified, your stuff definitely looks nice. Im a big fan of his bone collection :P

I think ive posted enough to show I havent been holding out ( not my intention if thats how it comes across) just made a lot of progress recently ( last 3-4 days) and havent had a chance to showcase it till today (limited time).
