Hey! I'm an animation student at Think Tank training center. My skills are more in 3d animation but when the Dom war popped up I got excited and decided to exercise my 2d skills for a change of pace :)

My character is called Shaman Enkai, a practiced healer trained in the ways of black magic. Enkai is a single Clericon with a dual nature, one side benevolent and the other vengeful. While he can use his Sun circlet to renew life, he can also use his dark magic to leech life away.

Enkai roams the earth atop his great tortoise, it's thick shell providing him protection.

This is just a vague description so far, with a few reference pics to get the idea accross. I've drawn quite a bit of influence for this character from African Maasai mythology. Thoughts?

I've decided to add some little extras to the tortoise mount, like a helmet made out of another tortoise's skull. Here's a quick silhouette to plan out the composition and scale.

Careful on the dual nature (as they're supposed to represent only one of the elements according to the brief). You also might want to tie the plot in to why he's the champion for his faction, as you've got a pretty cohesive one now and it'd be solidly in line with the brief with that addressed.

Sweet silhouette! I prefer it on the earthy tones with the less clean cut figure on top -- it's harder to read in silhouette, but it seems a lot more natural to the piece.

Good point Kary, thanks for pointing that out. It had occured to me too that it might be a little on the edge with the light/dark thing. I think I should make him an entirely dark magic shaman, since it'd suit the mount with the skull helmet. :)

Loukor: The shaman rider doesn't have an elongated neck, It will be an elaborate/tall headdress. I'm thinking that I may need to play with the scaling a little more to make sure the details on the rider are still readable.

I know I'm posting way more than I probably need to at this stage but here is another version of the silhouette, with the background changed and some proportions tweaked a bit.

starting to clean up the lines a little and do some ink work. I hope I can catch up to everyone ^_^
