Got a quick thumbnail idea up gonna build on this for a little while then I'll think of name/backstory and get the artefact done.

Sort of a chaos/dark armour set, non symmetrical design, with lots of bone and horns to be built in.

Dammit, how do you guys do such effective block shapes ?! Aaargh!

Suggestion : Maybe make the helm larger/more imposing ?

Like the theory behind the design of the orcs and goblin helms in Lord of the Rings :
They're built for fighting.
Lots of forward facing metal bits to give the feeling of attacking.
Some bits to hide the eyes and emphasis the mouth.

That sorta thing.

Oh, and I'm lookin' forward to seeing his artifact!

Concepted the head and some weapon thumbnails,

Helmet will fit round the horns as one set grow out of his head (this will take some working out!!!).

Not sure which weapon to go for but I'm thinking the broadsword or the claymore would be a good bet.


Character Name: Khaos
Artefact: Balmung, Sword of Sigmund

Forseeing the approach of the machines the great priests of war wrenched a soul from the pits of hell and fused it with the newborn of the demi gods.

Fully aware of his fate he was raised in battle, living a life of war.

The priests have filled his mind with fanatical stories of glory and destiny yet the evil soul within him exudes a darkness he cannot control. A fate of such epic proportions and beliefs of such tainted loyalty, bring an uncontrolled rage that festers and brims beneath the surface.

His love for his planet and his hatred of his creators conflict within him. He fights not for the priests or for the indifferent gods who spawned him but for the sheer drive of his black heart to kill mercilessly those who stand in his path. Though through such actions, such abandon, comes our last hope.

And with such power comes the ability to wield an item of such power, the Sword of Sigmund, Balmung!!

A weapon that carries the very darkness from which all gods have come, the void of space before time, is forged in its very blade. With it he can close the hole in time and space that haunts his planet and his people.

zomg I gotta find a cool story too! looking cool! about the helmet, seems to me if it's supposed to not have a big hole on the sides it needs to be in two pieces and then 'clicked' together somehow :]7 hope to see more concept ideas on this guy!

Quick update on the head, front view done, changed the nose from regular human looking one to evil demony type one, otherwise he looks too friendly.


any comments, criticisms or suggestions would be cool, cheers :thumbsup:

Gonna be doing full body concept next then I'll get modelling!!!

Full Body Concept is gonna take a while, stupid real world job is getting in the way, why can't we all live on a mountain and design all day (a mountain with wifi that is).

All artists of the world should save some money and buy this mountain or island to live and work there:)) imagine how creativety there would be:)

Finally Got the front view concept drafted out, gonna do a more dynamic view next to get some character into him.


also as far as colour and stuff goes I'm thinking to keep him dark with red/orange parts such as the cgs logo and some armour/weapon enchantments.

This is loking great, I really like the shape, though you seem to hve changed some of the armour from what you had in the little silhouette sketches and I think I kinda prefered the silhouettes. The helmet looked cool.

Yeah made alot of changes to the design this time! Still don't know what to do with the helmet its sort of fallen off as he's progressed, might try the next one with it on just to compare!

have already started modelling but wanted to clean up the concept and post it looking a bit nicer than the last concept. I've redesigned the leg armour as the last set looked a bit funny, this looks better, chunkier more aesthetically pleasing i think (if you disagree please let me know :) ).

Also i think it looks alot cleaner and alot cooler this way.

So let me know what you think if you think its worth letting me know!

Hey nice update you got their... it's looking awesome and I like his head alot. I have just one critique for you... which is, the arm/shoulder is too small imo... it could be bigger. Cheers mate!

cheers dude, yeah the arm from the elbow up is looking a bit small compared to the lower arm, kinda looks a bit popeye-ish, will try with a bulkier version.

wow awesome design! everything looks very tight and cool! especially like the weapon arm with weapon and the belt details :) though I'd revert to the body and leg armours in the coloured pic.. the new one looks a bit too barrel:ish and the legs don't really read (their bulkiness lost him some elegance I think) ..the small details on new one are cool though!
