View Full Version : PointOnCurve or Particle Flow

i am trying to create a particle flow of my own using point on curve, i limited from using curveflow or goals for this. So i am using pointOnCurve command to make particles travel along a curve. right now i am getting a very thin line. Is it possible to get some thickness or volume for the particles.

This is the expression i am using in the runtime of the particle position.

vector $crvData[] = `pointOnCurve -pr(age) -p curve1`;
vector $pos = <<$crvData[0],$crvData[1],$crvData[2]>>;
particleShape1.position = $pos;

whats easier is to make the curve a goal adding the goal U (i think it was U) to the particle attrs. then applying a ramp to the goal U so the particles move through their lifespan along the curve. dont forget to set the lifespan to anything but live forever.

now just apply another attr. goaloffset

there you just create a creation expr. with sphrand <float> or <vector>.

thats it. you're welcome. :)
