(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/1202933020/1024bound)Second time I try to enter my image - I had the idea of a Lighthouse with Windows for walls. Though I could not decide on a scenery and ended up doing a ocean scene. I must be honost, it was really fun creating the ocean out of nothing, and I do want to try animate it later. Anyhow, comments are always welcome.

I love the lighting and the ocean is amazing especially considering you did it from scratch! What programs did you use to create this project?

I used 3ds max for the modeling and basic texturing. After the scene was rendered, I used Photoshop to "re"-color the image in a sense. The original image does have less sun-set-feeling in it, but perpahs I should still submit it, dunno yet.
Here is a preview

Just one quick question, shouldn't the light house be bigger? I only mention this because there's a rock to the left of the picture that I imagine is larger than the light house (looks it anyway)? Also the light house seems hidden away in the cove? Shouldn't it be higher than everything else in the scene?

That is a very good question, which btw, has been on my mind too.
As for the Hight of the lighthouse, it was made using an actual lighthouse's dimentions
Other referenses I used was like these http://www.schleswig-holstein.de/bilderbogen/slides/Lighthouse.jpg and http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c7/Finnish_Lighthouses_1909.JPG
As for the rocks, well, hmmm, eish, well, there is no point in trying to justify it I guess. Eventhough in real life there are things in a photo that has questionable results sometimes; in art it does help to "hide" unwanted entities.
When I did the modeling, I designed a whole beach, then later decided on what angle to take the picture.
But thanks for bringing this up, I will fix it.

Question, if I read rule 4# right - "All entries should be original and not a derivative of existing work, including works previously entered in this competition."
Does that mean I cannot change my image?
Or can I atleast replace it, and if yes, how?
Sorry for all the questions
