View Full Version : High Res Depth Maps Crashing Maya

I'm trying to render out a scene with 3 lights--2 spotlights and one ambient. One of the spotlights has a dmap resolution of 8192. Whenever I render somewhere above 8000, Maya's renderer will crash internally, and when I command prompt render the render usually stops short of its ending frame.
Anyone know what the problem could be?

try rendering from the commandline with the -tw -th flags set to a value of 64 to as much as 256 .. this should force the renderer to manage the ram better but mayslow the render down.

why is your dmap so high, thats a little odd. u might want to reasses the scene a little bit and see if theres a way to rework it to drop it down.
