View Full Version : How do you create metal body parts?

I saw in Z-Central and the short movies at the Z-Brush site the artist that made the bust of Robo Cop. How do you get the metal parts to be so smooth? I f someone could help me I would really appreciate it. If someone can show me to a tutorial that would help too. Thanks!

There are two techniques that I use to get the hard edges for mechanical components.

1. Utilize the masking features and isolate areas of your mesh and then use the deformations as will as extracting components from your mesh

2. Set up your original mesh into polygroups where you know you want the hard hard edges. Then, when you divide your mesh be sure to use the crease feature to keep the hard edge.
