Hey all, this is my first WIP thread.

I am making my first ever female game character and I would really appreicate some feedback on what I have done so far before I progress (mesh topology and anatomical proportions mainly). At the moment I have modeled her head and body etc. with her equipment, hat and hair still to come.

The triangle count is: 3,212 (Am I right in thinking that 4,000 would be the maximum that a character like this would need? (in order to get the most out of normal maps))

That is not a bad start at all. As for topology, I think your shoulders look a bit odd. I think you may have troubles with animating if you dont modify your edge loops there. Also, your fingers seem to be a bit thick. If you look at your front view, you can see that they are nearly as thick as the palm area of the hand, where as they should only be 1/2 the width or so. One more thing is the breast area looks odd. They appear ok in your perspectice render, but the profile view makes them look really bubbly and unnatural. I would suggest finding some pictures for reference. Keep up the work and good luck!

Thanks for the feedback, I've done some aditional modelling some of which was based on your advice and I think it's an improvement, she contains 3,808 triangles now. Main area of work I did was making a collar and the button section of her shirt, which I probably should have just done with the normal map later on, but that won't be hard to change if that that's what I decide to do. I've also made some rough equipment to go on her belt. Next I have to make some hair then try make her not look like crap... That stage may take place in mudbox.
