hi, guys, I am a design student, here's a private project i am working on, a pick up.

i just fiished the modelling now,which cost me nearly 3 weeks, so below are only the LOW QUALITY renderings(with many problems you can see) to explain the FORM.

I hope i could finish it in this week.

I transfered all the nurbs parts(near 100) into polygons one by one, in order to get better surface quality with less polygons, but it's still 0.7 MILLION!!!, all the tiny edges have at least 5 rows of polygons, ensure the nice highlights in final rendering. the raytraced body reflection without "teeth" is also asking for sooo many polygons

for its shape, the words i have in mind are macho, monster, silent scream ....or something as stupid as these :i

Very cool design, you're ready for the market ! Could you post your drawings too ? I'd love to see the hole process. Yeah, and don't forget the wires !
What's the 3D app ?

SWEEEEEEET!! Very nice model!!! Patch modelling you say? Damn nice!! .7 million polys are soooooooo damn many....can you post a wireframe?

Do you do industrial design? That's a wicked shape (this coming from someone who has absolutlely no love of cars) I thing your definatley ready for the big time :thumbsup:

Quite good- The combination of smooth and sharp edges is a fine touch.

A brushed steel material may suit this type of vehicle well.

Is there enough room for the rear axel of the car? The truck bottom appears to extend beyond the axel of the rear wheels.

Looking forward to its completion.

Design and modelling look fine but I am shocked by the poly count.. which programme(s) did you use for this? :)

i think the polys are all in those fillets and rounded edges....;)

like the frenched tail lights ;)

very nice...not really alot more you can say, except get it textured and finished :D

This is looking like great especialy design. model is clean and nice just keep us informed when you have some textured renders and show us wireframe of 700k polys :))).

Only one nitpick would be - If we look from tehnical side then i wonder how do you deattach/attach wheels to this vehicle ?? He don't have any screws to hold on wheels or any kind patent so i'am just wondering about that ;).

yes, as D.Phoenix and Lewis said, there're some stupid problems if look at it at tech side, that's because it's a model for design presentation only, normally the vehicles in concept drawings have stupid big wheel, thin flat tire, small ground clearance to achieve more visual impact. hehee, in techmodel most things would be diferent,,,,,,,that's why the concept drawings of a car look much more lovely than the real production ones...

OK,finally, after all these lazy days, I got some rendering with material shaders on, thank you guys for waiting
I tried to achieve a simple clean sunset environment in this pic
this is a experimental pic with probe image form, has many lighting problems, but i have no time to continue on fixing it

I think it would be pointless for me to mention AGAIN that you have a beautiful model there, so.........:

It doesn't really look like sunset (try changing the coloring, even within photoshop, just to see what looks like sunset best).
The lighting needs to be fixed (it's too intense for a sunrise)
And, try to change the material of the lights at the front, they strike as fake too much, downgrading the whole image...

Awesome! I just noticed something, is that a chevy? The front end is shaped sort of like the chevy bowtie logo!

thank you diazgl, yes, as you said the atmosphere is too bright for sunset, ,,in fact i did it darker and warmer firstly, but it's not very good to show the shape of cars, so then i turned the whole bakground to white, it looks a bit over-exposure, and less visual impact now....
it cost a long time to do the rendering job, i don't want to touch it again now:wip:

tbonz816, oh, chevy, i dunno.. it's just a exercise of myself, ...maybe,it could be, so it's going to be a big chevy logo:wavey:

the GREEN version was 10 TIMES better. it was a lot cooler.

It had a very cool futuristic look to it.

Nice concept.

the green rendering.. are very cool...
the design too.. is great
the only "bug" for me, is the shading in the colored one....
the red paint.... doesnt look like.. car paint.. and the same for chrome parts. and tires...
maybe you didnt want do a "photorealistic" render... but just let us see the cool design...
but with a little bit study on material and'll do a perfect (complete) work !

.... but congratulations again
