just played around a little with mudbox, I was a bit surprised that it crashed out(out of memory crash) on me when trying to subdiv a sphere of 500k to I'd guess 2-3million polys, thought mudbox was capable of extremely high subdiv sculpting? or perhaps i'm such a n00b I've forgotten some preference adjustments? if not is there going to be a 64bit version?

no 64bit at the moment... maybe with mud2...
7mio is the max i think...
if you subD 3mio, you go up to 12mio poly... thats to much....

try to use local subD... so you can split your mesh into smaler pieces...
or use basemeshes they end up with 7mio poly...
