hi every1 i just did a simple bouncin box exercise...

Looking pretty good, some things I noticed: the box seems to have a gust of speed after the 4th hit, I would check this out, you want the box gradually reducing speed through all of these bounces. Also the box tips forward at the end, which is nice, but i would go ahead and have it tip back back as well, very slight, to get more of a settle for the end, keep up the good work.

Very Impressed. Which program did you use?

I am asking because I love the fact that the box is rotating but you are still able to squash and stretch the box as if the pivot point was located at the bottom. I am just getting into the animation side of things so please excuss the newbie questions!


ps I just bought messiah. I installed it late last night

hey koots!

i use 3ds max 9. Actually the pivot is on the center of the box, but the pivot manipulation mode is on Local, so when you scale it the pivots are pointing to where the box faces are pointing too.. its a little messy to explain but its pretty simple to do... i dont know in messiah if there is such option. Also with the Curve Editor you control the amount of scale and rotation with the tangents.

Its looking really good now! Another things I notice is that you want the squash to be smaller with each jump, since it is falling from less of a height each time, So I would check and make sure the squash is getting smaller with each hit as well.

you are so right about the squash i never noticed that! its squashing the same amount on the 3 first bounces, i have to fix that so it gets almost perfect :D
