I have a model I imported into maya from 3ds max as a .3ds file using maya's bonus tools. It comes in okay, except for some smooth shading issues, but when i start to create joints and bind the skin to them, the problems start. There are booleaned holes in the object from 3ds max, which i think may be the cause of some of the problems.
I attached some images to help describe whats happening. It is as if it is not binding all the parts of the geometry. I am also new to rigging in general so maybe im just doing this wrong? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
