View Full Version : First UnrealEditor4's map !

Hi all !
I think I've finished this "map" and I'll now work on the UT3 's version of the editor (this one is made on the Roboblitz version).
This "map" was just an exercise to understand this editor ...

Et voila !

Water is done with the really helpful Hourence's tutorial ( I've used it but deleted one group and simplify an other (this way i understand it better).

man, I should say, great job here!
Nice quiet relaxing environment, good for meditation ;) Imo all the stuff is well balanced in color, and works well with the setting.

It is pitty though that Roboblitz editor adds that strong bloom everywhere, I think that doesn't always look the best way.
A small comment to add would be a too simple and straight line between rocks and ground plane in upper left corner of ur first image. Everywhere else u got nice curvy edge though.

Well done :buttrock:

Nice! im a big fan of UT3!

this map nicely proves lots of people wrong on the official forums that say that you can't have colour in the new Editor.

oh and just so you know its not UED 4. its UED 3.4xx :D

Oh yeah ... you're right, I really thought it was UED 4 ... in fact it's UED 3.487

how do you like the new version of the editor?

It's really great. Easy to use, you can use models with mannyyyyy polygons without any problems, shaders system is excellent (it seems like maya) and easy (very logical in fact) ... (I haven't really use the triggers etc, I'm currently just focusing on the graphic process).

I haven't use the previous versions, but this one is really cool ...

the map looks good. nice atmosphere.

I dont like the way all of the packages are baked now. I know its a good feature for epic to have, but i like to look through all there work so that i can get better.

I also liked the old shader interface. Everything now seems so complex. like a fairly simple texture has like 30 different branches. maybe it would make more sense when i use it more
