It could be a "Geocities" situation - Ill upload them to another site, and edit the post, ASAP.

01 January 2002, 10:13 AM

01 January 2002, 12:08 PM
thanks for the link pascal:)
great character man!!! the design is very well put together and his head is very original.
what are u planning for him next??

01 January 2002, 12:32 PM
Thanks, folks! :)

Im trying to use every proposed characteristic for the challenge, in a not so humanoid design.

The "bone" structure in the head is something like a ressonance box, and I suppose he uses it to generate high-pitch sounds. Its not really made of bone, its more like a mollusk shell.

The tall guy comes from a low-gravity , dense atmosphere enviroment. Even so, I suppose he cant fly with those small wings, but maybe they can help him in huge jumps - when the need arrives.

Logan, Im planning his wardrobe right now, probably something that leaves a lot of skin exposed. Ill try a pirate-like wardrobe, with maybe a few twists.

Pascal, thanks for the help with the link... but I really would like to show the images right on the post. Any suggestions??

try here :
they allow image links in there and its free!!

01 January 2002, 01:05 PM
very good design... nothing else to say
maybe put more.... humanity
he look more like a creature and not like a character

01 January 2002, 02:40 PM
At last, it seems like its working (the direct link to the images).
Sorry for all the trouble, folks...

(Valeu pela dica, Logan! :D )

Golgoth_bla, thanks! And I totally agree with you - he looks just a creature, without clothes and gadgets.

Ill focus on that, next.

01 January 2002, 07:59 PM
Hi there...

Heres a small update - one more in a couple of hours! ;)

01 January 2002, 09:47 AM

01 January 2002, 11:11 AM

01 January 2002, 03:11 PM
Great character! Some weird/cool dude..! Very nice indeed :)

01 January 2002, 04:21 PM
Thanks a lot, Pascal & Epatnor!

But, weird? Really, guys, whats so weird about a six-eyed, four-winged insectoid pirate?

(As a matter of fact, we have lots of them here in Brazil! :D )

01 January 2002, 07:23 PM

01 January 2002, 08:49 PM
Valeu, Logan! :D

And thanks, for inviting me to the Challenge. It has been a great experience so far .

Just looking at the other entries is very educational - I hope someday I can do a work so nice as one of those beauties! :) :)

A small update...

01 January 2002, 12:31 PM
Excellent ! I really love the sword. :)

01 January 2002, 01:00 PM
Thanks a lot, Joe! :D

01 January 2002, 03:17 PM
wow man!!!
what can i say about that sword!!!!
beautiful, very stylish!!!
very tim burton(ish).
i love it:)
keep it up man!!!

01 January 2002, 04:10 PM
Thanks Logan! :D

I havent tried to emulate Tim Burton style - at least, consciously. It happens hes really influential to me (like Giger, Barlowe, Gilliam, and others).

But I confess: I specially love his style. Love those non-symmetrical spirals, nauseating color stripes , bug-eyes and such...
Wish I could create a character as cool as Vincent, or Beetlejuice, or Jack Skellington, or...

Is there a doctor (or a genie!;)) in the house?

01 January 2002, 04:10 PM
it looks cool!~

good work

01 January 2002, 06:18 PM
nice sword :D

01 January 2002, 08:33 PM
Thank you guys! :D :D

BTW, my next update will take a few days - lots of things still to do ...

01 January 2002, 09:21 AM
I still think that you have one of the best designs yet... :) :) :)

01 January 2002, 07:32 PM

Thanks! I hope you enjoy what Im working on, right now... :D :D :D

I expect to have a reasonable update by the end of the week - and maybe I can give a few anxious fellas one more reason to nuke Brasil! ;)

And what about you? When are you entering on all this fun?

01 January 2002, 02:56 PM
I'm not. Check out my reply in the Challenge WIP: KFC thread... I just love to bug you guys! :p

01 January 2002, 06:22 PM
Ahoy! :)

This is my new update... I just added the prosthetic wing, and Im working at wardrobe right now. I really would appreciate any feedback, positive or negative.

Im specially concerned with the "friendly factor". Does this guy look like a, well, guy, or Im still at creature/monster territory??

Krep: Thanks a lot for the "surprising"! Hope you like this one... :D

( Please notice hes armless on the images, for display purposes)
