View Full Version : Robot Waking up

I have not animated a 3D character in 9 years. This is a test to see if I can do it or not. A real simple animation of a robot waking up. The model was built by a friend, all I did was animate it.

What do you think?

My first concern: is it to slow near the end when he turns his head? I know it would have been better to drag out the waking up part but this is just an early test and I felt it was important to just get to the point.

its looking pretty good, one thing, his movements feel a little too smooth, almost human, I'd try making them a little snappier and robotic.

Thanks KyleG.

I actually wanted to try and make it move like a human because the animation I'm training for is going to use lot of humans. Unfortunately the only model I had to work with was a robot. Sorry for to mislead there.

KyleG I took a gander at your site, impressive animation. :)

It's not obvious that he wakes up. Probably because we don't usually see people sleep in the position and we can't see the face. When he wakes up, make it jarring. It looks more like he was stretching or something.
