i wonder, how would you go about bind the joints to a foot made of different geometry. Lets say the shoes have shoelaces made of several nurbs. Smoth bind?

Thy this script from called rivet. It creates a locator that always stays centred between 2 edges.

I havn't tried this technique out yet, but I was thinking of putting one rivets for each hole in the shoe and parenting a bone to each one. That way you can get some deformations in the lace and it will always follow the foot.

It's still new, so there's not a lot of info yet, but it's essentially the same problem.

PEN's solution was: "Use an attachment constraint and link it to that. You could also skin wrap it to the surrounding verts."
