Hi Cgtalkers,

my name is Maté, and I'm an ultra-stalker of this forum. I rarely post.
I've decided to share some of my work to perhaps gain some feedback
from those who are more experienced than me.

The name of my current project is kRoky the blue tongue alien. A fun, hyper character
like crash bandicoot, spyro, ty etc.

My aim is to produce a character that i would import in to Blitz3d engine and have basic
running, jumping etc.

I got to say, the biggest challange so far has been the darn head, but i got over it pretty quick.

Cool stuff! :thumbsup: I can see him running already.. including the streaks

Only crit I got is that you don't need the edges of the facial pattern exactly in the mesh... you can easily do that with a texture.. so don't let the previz dominate the polygon use (seems pretty okay BTW but just as a reminder!) And maybe let the loop around the mouth (the one that vanishes underneath the bottom lip) be complete. (as in you have an extra row of edges below the mouth, it doesn't cost that much tri's (since it is already there above the mouth) and gives better deformation)

While I like the foot design you have, I think you might have problems with the hands ingame. His hand design seems like it would cause problems if he is going to be holding anything like weapons or objects. Same with the tail if he is meant to hold stuff with his tail as well.

Btw, I tried to look at your portfolio site, and when I went to the gallery the category buttons (3d Models, Textures, etc) weren't clickable so I could't see any of your work. I was using firefox. Just a heads up.

People are probably not that into platformer heroes.

Hi! No oit is not bad... just last update was optimisation... and that is a boring job (has to be done though) and you really did not made any mistakes going about it... so not much to crit/ say.

But now! :)

no... Just hoping you are going to use some more polies on the hands... I feel they are really very characteristic and important to this character so they should be treated the same way as the face. I feel they are still to low.
Second I want you to consider to go with the thicker tail as in the concept, I feel the tail you have now couldn't even support the weight of the hand at the end, So it would collapse when supporting his full bodyweight during acrobatics. And also.. I think the thicker tail looks better/nicer

And maybe add a couple of edgeloops to the leg attachment area... It is going to be a platform acrobat dso make sure he is as bendable as possible for animation.

Anime character update, this is just a side-thing, not really related to Kroki. Better than creating another thread. Enjoy.
