I have my Jaw droped ...
Wow

04-14-2003, 12:27 PM
Stunning work. Perhaps the plugsuits from Evangelion were your inspiration for her suit? And do I notice some buildings from Final Fantasy Spirits Within through the window? Regardless of your inspiration, you have created something which in itself inspires... excellent.

04-14-2003, 12:29 PM
This is very pro indeed....

you have a very good talent...Good luck :wip:

04-14-2003, 12:49 PM
Wow, excellent 2D work! You mean this is your first pic on CGtalk, not first pic ever right?? I like the design of everything there. Maybe you could tone down the background a bit (desaturate or have it tinted slightly blue) to bring out the girl in the foreground? She seems to disappear a bit in the composition.

04-14-2003, 12:51 PM
It's a nice imagine, I like it alot!

Hmm the spotlight looks like it's aimed in another direction than the light emitts from.

Keep it up!

The only thing that looked outa place is the chair. It doesn't seem to have any depth. From the angle in the picture the bottom of the head rest should be visible. Other than that small nick-pick, it's a wonderful design. Great job!

04-14-2003, 12:54 PM
nice, only crit would be that your perspective on the left hand structure is a bit off as it approaches the floor.

04-14-2003, 12:55 PM
That's something i like  How long it took You?

04-14-2003, 01:00 PM

First class material:thumbsup:

Got meself a new wallpaper he he he ;)

Best regards.

04-14-2003, 01:09 PM
Hey dudes

This is an excellent picture, i have to agree. But some of you guys are a bit naïve, it seems. First work?? Com’on, I think he meant that this is his first work he posted here. There is nobody on this world who can make such a thing as his first work, not even when you read a bunch of tutorials. Even then you make mistakes.
Still it’s great and it deserves to be plugged.

04-14-2003, 01:11 PM
friggin ace man. tho indeed as wiro suggested, toning down the background will result in a slightly more emphasise on the subject of the picture. . . but MAN what a piece of work

cgmonkey, the light is going in the right direction. we're looking at the back of the spot. that piece of light is the underside of the lamp the way i see it.

I MUST LEARN MORE ...........

04-14-2003, 01:15 PM
Thank you for the reply (Thank you for leaving a comment)..

As Connor mentioned this picture was influenced by several other artwork.

My knowledge of science fiction is limited so I based my work on many others.

Thanks, and I will try to post something better next time.

p.s. 'first work' mean.. first time upload on CGTALK

04-14-2003, 01:27 PM
Well, It's certainly excellent!

04-14-2003, 01:51 PM

04-14-2003, 02:12 PM
It aint showing up for me :hmm:

Looks badass in the small thumbnail on the main page, wish I could see the full size.

04-14-2003, 02:19 PM
I can only see the thumbnail on the first page, and your website does not work. Can you post it somewhere else? Would really like to see. The thumbnail looks intriguing.

04-14-2003, 02:41 PM
worked for me, brilliant i love the style, people like you are the ones that make me push my photoshop skills aswell as my hand drawn stuff

thanks for sharing this piece of great work

04-14-2003, 03:03 PM
Excellent work!

04-14-2003, 03:12 PM
hi there,
you made a gread picture, it surely deserves being on the front page!
One thing though: you need to pay attention to your colors/values, I think the blue tubes kinda catch the eye so that you look at them, so what I mean is that they distract the eye a little.. do you see what I mean?

anyways great work!

04-14-2003, 03:38 PM
your perspective is horribly wrong in alot of areas of that piece.

it is a shame that you worked so hard to bring it to final when you have bad perspective ruining it all...

...in the future is is always best to lock down your perspective/proportions/etc before going to final...

nice start...please post more work in the future...and welcome to cgtalk!

04-14-2003, 04:15 PM
WOW! your lighting is excellent! just freaking wow! awesome!

04-14-2003, 04:32 PM
i think he said this is his first Upload ... :)

good Job

04-14-2003, 04:38 PM
Wow, great work!
*There are fields Neo, endless fields...*

04-14-2003, 05:00 PM
whoa, nice

04-14-2003, 05:06 PM
Really, really nice.
But one thing bothers me... the figure's left foot seems to not be there. Maybe it's a trick of the perspective, but it keeps catching my eye.

04-14-2003, 05:23 PM
Wow! incredible!!!! :buttrock:

My first salutation is given to you:thumbsup:

04-14-2003, 05:42 PM
That's one hell of a work! I'm amazed!

One thing: The perspective of the background is a little bit strange...espcially the structure on the top left.

04-14-2003, 06:01 PM
WOW!! damn nice indeed. Wicked detail

04-14-2003, 06:28 PM
she looks like Kos-mos the lower part of the body. I love it tho, i really love it!!!

however, i can't get in to the first link.

The Magic Pen
04-14-2003, 06:38 PM
I agree with the perspective issues but the rendering is so nice I can see past it...wow good work !! :buttrock:

04-14-2003, 06:51 PM

it's great, reminds me a lots evangelion(because of the plugsuit), and it's really nice compisition, maybe a bit strange perspective but it works very well in the whole picture... great ambiance too... i like it a lot, keep kicking ass...

:applause: :applause: :applause:

04-14-2003, 07:06 PM
Nice work!:p

04-14-2003, 07:06 PM
I can't quite place my finger on it, but something isn't kosher with her pose. I just feel like the artists desire to draw her away-facing hip usurped a more natural pose.

04-14-2003, 08:11 PM
GreaT woRK! i can sEE that u;rE an experience.. painter.. u very familiar with the colour uses and lighting... do u have an exact reference or imagination?

04-14-2003, 08:33 PM
man thats nuts, the detail in it is great. reminds of EVA for some reason.. anyways great work, will be looking forward to more of your work.

04-15-2003, 12:57 AM

04-15-2003, 06:53 AM

04-15-2003, 07:45 AM
  .................

04-15-2003, 09:09 AM
Woah nice job
do you think we could see a website or more pics of you're work and what kind of background you got in 2d/3d artwork?

04-15-2003, 09:42 AM

04-15-2003, 10:28 AM
Cool, it's back up! Very nice work!

One thing I think would help this piece is if it had more variety of textures. As it is now, almost everything is a semi-reflective metal. It would heighten the realism if there were matte patches in certain places (concrete maybe?).

Anyway, you've definately got skills! Let's see more! :bounce:

04-15-2003, 01:00 PM
excellent work, the design is very well, so, perhaps the nuances of blue colors does not influence enough the decor .

04-16-2003, 12:41 AM

It's an absolutely outstanding/jawdropping piece!
The sheer amount of detail defies belief. :buttrock:

05-06-2003, 09:33 AM
Great work, and nice imagination. hope to see more about your work.

08-12-2003, 08:17 AM
That's cool! I wonder how long had you taken for this piece?

01-05-2005, 05:32 PM
This piece has two overpowering elements then almost all the others i've seen. It actually looks and feals like it should. Theres a hint of pain in her arched back and stiff left hand. Her hidden face gives it a dreamlike quality and the doctor observing her with the clipboard shows a neat story element as if the picture were capturing a single pinnacle moment in a futuristic fantasy novel or something of that sort. The star-wars like outside city with flight and above-the-clouds skyscrapers with skeletal buildings takes this piece from awesome to a well worthy spot in any published collective works. Great job.
