Been working on this guy for the last couple weeks. Trying to finish up on the jacket right now. Comments/Crits welcome:

Very nice I especially like the folds. his hands seem a little long though.

agree Charist, hands are the weakest point on the model i think. here's an update. currently working on left arm folds:

heh, thanks pizzle. here's an update on the folds. actually kicked the plug out on my machine yesterday so lost a bit of work, but got back on him today.

I actually love his hands...yes they are long, I have seen people with enlongated fingers... although it adds to his personality, i would love to see him strangling with a mother****er with them....:thumbsup:
I would also add some of the hand wrinkles and veins if you plan on baking out a normal map. Are you going to add fibers to the jacket...you could use a fabric texture and apply it to the clothes as a mask and inflat it...provided you have enough polygons on the clothes...

Thanks Halo. Definitely want to get back to the hands. not sure if i'll be adding viens in zbrush or photoshop. Yeah, the jacket doesn't have enough polys at this point to support that fine of a texture, don't think my machine could handle it. Glad you're liking him so far.
Here's a render of the final head model, though I might do some more work on the mouth. Lower portion of the neck didn't get much love due to it being covered up.

At first the hands did seem a bit off, but I think they give him kind of a Frankenstein-vibe. I dig it. Great job on the folds so far. It's coming along nicely.

but it's still cool, of course - just make sure you make his head look nothing like ol' frankie.

Looks great. My only concern would be the folds around his arms. They work fine for his current pose, but when his arms are relaxed & by his side, isn't that going to look a little odd? Thick material like a suit jacket usually prefers to stay smooth until otherwise persuaded.

Although I suppose it depends on how you intend the character to be used... if he never has to lower his arms then all's fine.

thanks RSingh. a very valid crit. yeah, i guess i envisioned him walking after around the room trying to beat the snot out of you, so this seemed like a good ready pose. but more than anything i wanted this project to demonstrate an ability to do folds.
here he is with everything, belt, pockets, buttons, seams. will probably try and get a better hand in along the way but calling the high done for now.
