View Full Version : Enzo Ferrari, Milktea (3D)

04-11-2003, 11:11 PM (

here's my latest model, a Enzo Ferrari:)
the modelling and rendering was done in lightwave

04-11-2003, 11:29 PM
hey Milkandtea your attention to detail is amazing!! Ive seen lots of 3d car model but yours is very highly detailed!!! the rubber... the materials... its highly crafted!, my only suggestion on the red one is maybe to tone down the reflection so the red is not too washed out or maybe tone down the diffuse... I also use lightwave.

one way to judge a 3d car is from its reflection... and your car has a nice line of reflection across from one piece to another

keep up the good work man !!!

Don't know the Enzo well enough to judge the accuracy but that looks to be a severely well crafted model. Have to agree with erwinriau about the main body texture though.. as it is , it is really not doing the model full justice.. and similarly the window texture looks rather 'flat'. Otherwise a rather nice job. :)

04-12-2003, 01:25 AM
very clean and accurate model! nicely done  the interior looks excellent also

04-12-2003, 02:53 AM
Great modelling. The paint shader definitely needs to be refined a bit. Way too reflective and washed out, as previously stated.

04-12-2003, 05:40 AM
wow!!! a better paint shader and this would be perfect

04-12-2003, 05:45 AM
this model is simple superb...
makes me really wanna go to my internship's studio and start using their copy of Lightwave! :D

got a wireframe? a tutorial for us?

04-12-2003, 06:43 AM
Well you've certainly set the standard for modeling the Enzo!

Can you please post another view from the rear corner of the car? And maybe even a close up of the engine? Looks like you've modelled every visible detail and the interior looks superb.

Edited for typos.

04-12-2003, 02:34 PM
Thanks you all for the comments.:)

Here's a Rear view.

04-12-2003, 03:00 PM

04-12-2003, 04:04 PM
the attention to details is amazing
please don't stop

04-12-2003, 06:36 PM
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!! thats one hell of a car model :)

04-12-2003, 07:44 PM
You are crazy ! :)

It's very detailled and this is perfect !

04-12-2003, 08:49 PM
JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that's the most highly detailed, most accurate, most perfect, most amazing, model i've seen EVER!!!!!! honestly!!!
i bow down to you o'masterful one!
   :xtreme: :xtreme:

how on earth did you do it?, spline modeling?
how long did it take?
(with the amount of detail you've put into it you could well have been modeling it since before i was born!!!)

Damn, i wish there was a tutorial!

Keep it up!!!!

04-12-2003, 08:50 PM
I can't see anything

04-12-2003, 08:53 PM
"Sounds" great, but unfortunately, I've yet to be able to view these...
The download speed is i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-y s-l-o-w...
I've been waiting 15 minutes now, and have about 1/8 of each picture now.
I'm on a high speed broadband connection, so I'm curious what's up.
How are you guy's viewing this? Patience?
Ps. maybe someone can mirror this (I'd do it, if I could get them in the first place).

04-12-2003, 09:15 PM
Great work, amazing details for sure, it deserves the front page

04-12-2003, 09:26 PM

I always wonder with these high detailed car models how far you can go with modelling details, when do you say: ok this bolt I will model, but this one I wont, or do you just model what you can see when you open all doors and caps?

04-12-2003, 09:27 PM
 5 bright stars. The detail. Beautiful. The paint shader is close... How much time was invested into this model? Amazing attention to detail. Congratulations!:applause:

04-12-2003, 09:28 PM
they've said it are sick i saw a post of a guy who is making an airplane and i told him that i've only seen 2 models in my entire life with so much detail as counting his n ur job it makes 4.......amazing:bowdown:

04-12-2003, 09:29 PM
Can it see now?

04-12-2003, 09:32 PM
the ferrari text seems that it does stick out a bit too mcuh on the back fin their, thats bout all i can really notice that is obviously out of wack.

04-12-2003, 09:32 PM
i dont like the color:applause: j/k is great

04-12-2003, 09:35 PM
wow... amazing

04-12-2003, 09:35 PM
i think the lighting/render needs somethign else to make it look a bit more interesting but

the modeling looks great, very detailed as has been said, I think you need to do an animation through the car so it can all be appreciated in the end :)

John Lee
04-12-2003, 09:43 PM
one thing i can say is your too good!!!!!!! Excellent stuff man:buttrock:

04-12-2003, 09:46 PM
awesome work

i'd also really like to know how long the model took you start to finish...

i've really only done characters for the past couple of years but i want to branch out and try something different. seeing your work is certainly inspiring me to give a vehicle a try. nice job

04-12-2003, 09:48 PM
very nice enzo :)
the model looks awsome... and its really kewl that u modeled the engine and the inside.
but the texture needs to be fixed...its too shiny and it has that really clean looks to it that makes it look right out of a 3d program look.

04-12-2003, 09:49 PM
Wow, the details are great.
Thats really amazing :buttrock:

04-12-2003, 09:58 PM
i will be starting a ferrari enzo for a surface and shaders class i have. I will be using MAya 4.5. Do you have any suggestions for me on how to get started?

04-12-2003, 10:02 PM
that's just ill man!!! what do you have a real enzo staying in your back yard for refference?:)

04-12-2003, 10:04 PM
One word DISTURBING !!

04-12-2003, 10:11 PM
wow this is great. reminds me of speed racers car for some reason. heh anyway awesome work. maybe an animation coming soon?

04-12-2003, 10:33 PM
It becomes study very much. :)

The Ferrari modeled using spline patching and subpatches.
Building time took about a month or two.
I created this model only with a photograph and blue paints.

spline images

sorry my english.

04-12-2003, 10:43 PM
Milktea, your last name wouldn't happen to be Ferrari, would it? I have seen a lot of BAD looking blueprints for this car. I'd be interested to see what you worked from. Nice car!

04-12-2003, 10:58 PM
Hi Milktea,
Thanks for posting those links.
I tried it using "right-click/save as", and found that the transfer rate is 46bytes per second ("enzo_rear.jpg" will be done downloading in 1 hour and 12 minutes).
Everything else runs very fast for me.
The weirdest thing is that the rest of you can see it fine.
Very odd...

04-12-2003, 11:06 PM
i only managed to display about 1/4 of one of the pictures. from what i saw, it looked really nice. would love to see the rest if you can find another server/ host please.

04-13-2003, 12:30 AM
Totally wicked!

What amazes me the most is the interior and engine, it's a shame you don't see much of it from outside the car..

04-13-2003, 03:18 AM
Ok I had to take down the plug because your server was very very slow here. I'm hosting them on ours for the time being just so they can withstand the plug. Great work, one of the best cars I've seen here. It even has a windshield wiper :D

04-13-2003, 03:37 AM
Thanks Lil' Dragon!
Now I can join the chorus in,
sick (in a good way)

04-13-2003, 03:46 AM
"Goodness gracless great balls of fire .....Mablene!!!"

This car has so much leval of detail that it is godly. I never seen a car model with ever thing and i mean ever thing model including the number on the speedodometer. Great work.:insane:

04-13-2003, 03:52 AM
wow perfect!

5 stars! :bounce: :bounce:

04-13-2003, 03:52 AM
Yeah, it's so detailed that if you look close enough, you can see the lines of coke on the dash.

04-13-2003, 04:27 AM
oh boy!
uve got skills!
fckng grean man! :arteest: :surprised

04-13-2003, 04:36 AM

Dude, Whicked modeling! :xtreme::xtreme::xtreme:

I think the render could be a bit better, maybe in in action shot or something, but that model is just nuts!

04-13-2003, 05:47 AM
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

if you say "this is really easy to do in lightwave",
no one can deny that lightwave is the best modeler over the world!!!

no crit!it's perfect!

04-13-2003, 06:07 AM
yup what can i say..!?

everybody has given the comments.........superb wrk..oustanding as ferrari itself!:applause:  :bounce:

04-13-2003, 10:08 AM
waah sickness, great work man. Thrully Awesome...

04-13-2003, 01:00 PM
whao, excellent modelling!

04-13-2003, 01:12 PM
Great attention to details. Amazing! :airguitar

However (sorry about this), is the car wide enough, and also is the nose/front of the car too long? Can you post the blueprints and photos you used for referance?

Again, amazing work!

04-13-2003, 01:45 PM
but one mistake - the frontwheel looking light left but the steeringwheel not ;)

04-13-2003, 01:48 PM
excellent detail in the modeling. I like it! You even modeled all of the guages :D

Now get that computer cooking and lets see some more rendered shots!

04-13-2003, 02:19 PM
that is sick man :P SOOOO very detailed... =\

04-13-2003, 02:22 PM
Those screenshots look just like XSI screenshots. Exactly like XSI

Since I don't use LW I have no idea what LW look's like inside. Not to throw you're topic off but I was suprised to see LW screens look the same as another program.

Very good work. Top notch modeling and a great job. I have a huge Ferrari book and you got the feel right on the money. You should be proud

????? I can make that exact kind of shots also in C4D, and i guess it's the same thing in Max And Maya too.

04-13-2003, 03:36 PM
Go for it

Not just the color but the way the lines look, every little detail, I wish you the best of luck

04-13-2003, 03:58 PM

04-13-2003, 06:21 PM
 you built everything interior and exterior.......... increadible work

04-13-2003, 07:31 PM
:buttrock: God !! your work is very great, man. It is very had to see a 3d car work like this, I mean it is so cool  Keep post up the great work.

04-13-2003, 08:09 PM
aaah shit baby!!

this blew my gand over.

absolutly out of control!!!!!!!!!!

04-13-2003, 09:15 PM

You are a very good modeler.

Can you render it in black color?

04-13-2003, 09:22 PM
Good work...and after about 30 min of looking at it...i noticed you didnt have this Correct me if im wrong but i cant see it anywhere in the rear pic...unless it just doesnt have any textures to it :D anyways hell of a job :buttrock: and is there any chance of seeing a rear pic of the engine rendered out? Thanks

:edit: and the chrome ferrari symbol

04-13-2003, 10:58 PM
dude very very very nice.....

If you have the urge to do another car do the Viper Venom 800tt >=) thats a bad ass car. (smokes ferraris) anyyyyways very nice man :applause:

04-13-2003, 11:26 PM
Nice job man, you ruled the whole forum, ehehehe

I can see that the "month or two" you spent on it really paid off, good work :o)

Hmmm... Sorry to contribute to the OT, but it looks pretty similar to the way I work as well.
Neither Lightwave nor XSI.
If it doesn't look similar, I'm curious what's different about the lines and "every little detail" in XSI...

04-14-2003, 07:38 AM
Superb man! I hope I am able to make such a beautifull car in the future!! :p

Keep up the good work!

04-14-2003, 10:52 AM
Dam you rule man!!!
:buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

04-14-2003, 11:23 AM
ehat the hell. May I ask what computer you'r working on ? Aniway, the detail is just incredible, I coulden't have the pacience to do that, maybe for a grate sum of money (I presume it was for a client, not jost hobby-made). Lot of detail, most of which u can't even see in the renderings, beautiful work. You could work a bit more on the render tho.

04-14-2003, 11:41 AM

04-14-2003, 12:15 PM
Those details are not a waste of time, i believe that such little details that you almost can't see make the difference between a photorealistic and an unrealistic rendering.

04-14-2003, 01:07 PM
OMG! W!CKED MODEL! :applause:

04-14-2003, 04:01 PM
omg that'S simply crazy... you even modeled the numbers on the display... omg omg.....

04-14-2003, 06:17 PM
hmmmm........i would say....OMG...but...i have great doubts on the making of that car in lightwave....i have been using lightwave for 2 years and those images look nothing like LW.....(maybe the spline cage but thats all)....also the render needs some owrk but ...... cad data.....i would like to the see all the images u used to make this car...that would settle any doubts i and the rest at our firm out the window..... well post'em i am dying to know...

04-14-2003, 06:21 PM
MY foot is in my mouch...(tasty...) well ur in japan and your light wave is different than ours....waht version of lightwave is it? well still i would like to all of your images anyway....

04-14-2003, 07:34 PM
heyy...only 4 starts atm. This is best car model Ive ever seen..:applause:

04-14-2003, 11:49 PM
I would not mind seeing renders from the inside.

The Magic Pen
04-15-2003, 12:25 AM
Great models !! ..Would like to see you do a creature or character using this amount of detail

04-15-2003, 07:49 AM
With that amount of detail do an animation with the doors opening and the engine cover lifting. The Enzo looks really good with the doors open.
I did a quick scene like that with my Enzo model which was nowhere near as perfect as this.
This is a link to the image

04-16-2003, 12:28 AM
That is very good, all the details look pretty spot on. I would really like to see the blue prints you worked from I could only find photos for my Enzo, in progress(slowly);action=display;threadid=588

04-16-2003, 12:54 AM

04-26-2003, 01:11 PM

05-16-2003, 08:41 AM
woooooooo!!!!
very good!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

05-24-2003, 02:52 PM
very great job!!
why not render a "wings up", that must be even amazing!
i have modeled the same car months ago but not that detailed, and i am now rebuilding it, i use rhino 2.0.

06-30-2003, 04:34 PM
*innocently clicks on thread...sees Ferrari Enzo...looses all bladder control.* Bloody hell fire - that is some seriously searingly sensational modelling!!! Truly inspirational!!:applause:

06-30-2003, 06:16 PM
<gasp> !

06-30-2003, 08:43 PM
I'm in Shock and Awe. Stunning!

06-30-2003, 10:29 PM
WOW  :buttrock:

07-01-2003, 06:56 AM
That is awesome  !

It's great, I have only one suggestion (which will hurt to say, because it is so awesome): Use HDRI reflection maps (I say this a lot, but for cars, it's a MUST). Other than that, though, it kicks ass! Your attention to detail is like none I've ever seen, what references did you use?

07-01-2003, 06:53 PM
Am I mistaken, or did you actually model the numbers on the tach and speedometer? I've heard of sanding the undersides of the drawers, but that's just insane! :D Great job, man.

04-19-2004, 01:06 AM
Wow man, the detail is perfect in that picture. Im into drawing cars too, and i was wondering what program did you use to draw that perfectly done Enzo. Also how much and where could i get it at too. Anyways great job, that is just awesome. Dusty.

It may smoke Ferrari's off the line, but I'm going to doubt it's ability to smoke race bred Ferraris around a track. And it won't even come close to touching an Enzo on the track, unless the Enzo is coming up from behind to lap the Viper.

Anyhoo, amazing model. Makes me ashamed of the cars I've tried making in Lightwave, but it's also inspired me to do better.

05-17-2004, 09:37 PM
FAB! I have seen alot of models of cars but this one is right near the top of the list of the best!!

well done

Blue Gekko:applause:

Felipe F. M.
06-04-2004, 07:12 PM
this is very impressive!

you've got to post a rear and an internal view!!!

06-10-2004, 11:17 PM
Omg thats a lot of detail in a car model i love it, the wireframes say one thing you are insane.

Good work, i would have to agree on the mat though a richer red or a cook torrance mat would make it deeper.

07-09-2004, 09:23 AM
insane work...
*breathing hardly* *trying NOT to faint away*

10-02-2004, 12:27 PM
RAW :applause:
what did you use to make/design your car ?
can you let me know ?
thanks mate ! :)
