I've been thinking about this for a few days but I'm not real sure how to go about doing it so I'd thought I'd see if anyone has any ideas. The bullet time shot in the matrix where the bullets have that displaced wake. Any ideas how to do that. Its looks as though there is some particle emmission that is refracting light, and displacing the air around it. I was wanting to do this in maya, there might be a way to do it in post, but I'm not sure how to do that either. Any ideas????

If you do a forum search you should find that this effect has been discussed quite a number of times.

I searched the forums and I didn't really find anything that could help me. :annoyed: I was looking for something more maya specific I guess. But after playing around a little bit I got something that worked pretty good. :) I used blobby particles with a higher threshold so they would clump together better. Then I made them transparent and tweaked the refractions till it looked right. Thats just FYI if anyone cares.
