View Full Version : editing character sets to include material channels?

I'm in 8.5 and am trying to make a simple character set that contains a locator that as a few poly objects as children AND I want to be able animate the incandescence of one of the materials used in the poly objects.

The docs have been very unhelpful. Infact the link called 'editing character sets' just points to a blank page.

I've tried using the relationship editor ( character > set current character set > character set editor ) but when I [think] I'm adding just the incandescence attributes, a whole lot of other material attributes get added and I can't remove them from the character set.

Can anybody give me the proper workflow?

The character command in the mel command reference guild should be able to help you add only the incandescence attributes.
